    It’s a new day it’s a new dawn

No. But we need another player, just one, who can play there. The dip in his form must be at least partly due to the fact he has to play every single game. And if he gets injured who knows what we’d do.

    Sheaf

When Sheaf becomes our biggest problem we’ll be in a very good place.

    What on earth happened?

Hopefully most will recognise the rebuild job Lampard has. He’s inherited some talented forwards, a couple of half decent midfielders, no leaders, no experience and some shocking defensive options. I detest loans but he’s going to need at least 2 to limp through to summer.

Dasilva’s basic issue is he is utterly clueless at defending and he is a defender. He’s trading on the skill that lots of players do these days which is the static five yard pass. It’s the most basic skill which somehow nowadays has acquired currency.

Match Thread Coventry City - Plymouth Argyle Match Thread - Thursday 26th Dec

It’s at the point where Collins needs dropping for his own good. Forget the comedy dive over the ball for their first. It was the nothingness of a foray off the line and a feeble disguise of a punch for the third that screamed “confidence through the floor”.

    It’s a new day it’s a new dawn

That’s the issue. Ours has gone from a squad of adding 2-3 and finessing to needing 5 new starting players. 4 if you take a chance on Dovin. That means Doug has to fund the purchase of two CH’s, a midfielder and a right back. And by fund it will be from reserves, not sales, unless Gyokeres goes.

My take on the Pompey implosion

The game is all about momentum. Sometimes we have it. But we concede so many goals, so many of them stupid ones, that it means you’re dragging yourself along all the time. The Collins howler on Saturday completely switched the momentum. Roll into that Kings business based transfer strategy and...

    The Barnsley crew

Don’t see the problem re Kitching. We are desperate for a bit of aggression at the back.

    Worse Defences than ours?

I wonder when the tactics sheep will finally acknowledge that playing out from the back is a ridiculous tactic? Spurs particularly but everyone else concede endless goals via this tactic.

So, reading between the lines we have an owner who bought a team because he thought he’d get a stadium and a stadium owner who bought a stadium because he wanted a team? I must admit I think King has dodged a bullet. Tenancy is actually a decent business model.

No, but we need at least two who are good enough. At the moment we potentially have 1

    What on earth happened?

Agreed. Dovin, Kitching and Bidwell in for Plymouth. Torp out - still not seen him do anything near enough. Eccles in. Top 3 ok

We need to build a team around these players

Don’t think it’s quite that bad. Dovin - how do we know. Needs to play. Bidwell - perfectly good champ lb. Van Ewijk - just needs to not play occasionally. Sheaf. Anyone who thinks a group of players to build around shouldn’t include him is deluded. And up front we have good options.

    Why Collins?

Whatever he’s seen so far it’s not feasible that he can play again after yesterday

A DoF might help. But to have any chance they need to bring a keeper and 3 defenders with them.

I think we’ve got to be fair with BTA. He’s largely being used for 15 minutes at the end of games on the left wing. It’s not a scenario easy to impress in.

    It’s a new day it’s a new dawn

Does anyone actually know what the problem is with Kitching. To not be able to get a game ahead of Binks he must have done something unfathomably bad.

    Doug King

Of course he won’t put his own money in. He’s not invested emotionally. He has not even a tenuous connection to the club. It’s purely business.

    It’s a new day it’s a new dawn

He’s probably not so alarmed when we win???
