I don’t really care if Kitching is a prick. If he can keep some goals out that’s all that matters. Apart from anything else he gives us some height and aggression.

This is spot on. When either Sheaf or Eccles receive the ball the process is control it, take a touch, take the unnecessary touch, slow down to walking pace, roll to Thomas. Then repeat. Neither fizz the ball about or consistently move at a pace that doesn’t allow the opposition to set up...

We’ve simply got to find a defender or two. Unfortunately that might require moving a couple of defenders on - which will be difficult if anyone has watched us.

Well it’s fairly easily explained. We’ve got as much cutting edge as a blancmange up front and we defend like dog shit.

It’s fairly simple. We’re the easiest team to score against by a long way. We find ways to concede against ponderous shite like Albion. Therefore we’re always going to struggle

That’s quite simply some of the worst defending you’ll see.

Decent half. They’ve got a lucky goal and we’ve generally controlled it. Sheaf and Eccles have got to stop slowing it to walking pace when they get it and pop a few quick balls about.

Good team. Obviously a bit more secure being away. Bassette picked for the extra nuisance factor away from home.

Who on earth is going to come in for Kitching and Dasilva. The most likely outgoings for me would have to be Wright, Simms or Sheaf. Not because we want rid, just our most saleable assets. If we’re looking to free up cash to reinvest it’s going to be a slow window. The focus has to be on defence.

Kitching is potentially our best CH. I think he’ll get his chance. But he does seem to have been unpopular - for whatever reason - with successive managers.

We’ve come from a few years of not buying anyone. Loans etc. The reality is £4-5m is a tiny transfer fee nowadays. It’s the equivalent of say 200-300k when you look back to the late 80’s. We were taking punts on the likes of Kevan Smith, Peter Billing etc. for that sort of fee.
