I really don't think it matters what we believe and think about this anymore. It's done. It's dusted.

Not saying he was lying, but anyone telling fibs in front of a group of people would surely always pick a story that sounded plausible and would be believed.
Otherwise what's the point? You would be picked apart if your lies could be easily uncovered.
