    Observation!

Nope, because we certainly never became a Northampton club, and the fans fought tooth and nail to get CCFC back where everybocy knew they clearly belonged. Compare and contrast. Ask yourself the question, where should Wasps play? And if the most precise answer you can come up with is...

    Observation!

Except that 80% of season ticket holders were from the High Wycombe area: http://www.rugbynetwork.net/boards/read/s130.htm?129,14938011 It’s not surprising – if a rugby club from Birmingham moved to an industrial estate in Stratford on Avon, how many Brummies would still be regularly attending...

    Observation!

I’ve made this argument before and got crucified for it, and no doubt will again. A lot of the things on this thread would make perfect sense if Wasps were not already a franchise before the Coventry move. They went a long way out of London to Wycombe (which already had, and still has, a rugby...

Match Thread Coventry v Oxford Utd Match Thread - Tuesday 18th Oct

Thought in his first couple of games that he looked a good player and decent acquisition, but he got a lot of stick because of the lack of goals. Strikers take time to settle, and if he could grow in confidence and start delivering the goods it would make a massive difference to the team.

    Latest SCG Minutes

Not even the organisation (CCFC) for which a stake in the stadium business was strategically crucial, which had relinquished that stake, and whose owners knew the agreed terms of buying back in before they took over?

    Latest SCG Minutes

All of a sudden, more information from Fisher in one meeting than we’ve had over several years. As part of this new-found openness, Mr. Fisher would do himself a favour by backing up the claim that a 23-25K stadium can be accommodated at the Butts. I dare say it’s technically achievable, but...

    More news on Ryton

Nail on head. SISU had two choices - prove their good intentions, and work to build from the inside (on terms that knew about when they took over). Or try to be clever by attempting to bring the whole thing down from the outside.

    More news on Ryton

This is the Ryton thread, right?! I did a bit of digging on the involvement of Sport England in Planning Applications (https://www.sportengland.org/facilities-planning/planning-for-sport/development-management/planning-applications/). There are lots of links and policy documents, but to try...

    £6-7m sale price?

Well I think Fisher did say something about moving to a more modern and inspiring environment. It’s a question of how much faith you place in his pronouncements, which (to put it kindly) always seem to leave room for interpretation.

    Gael 5th M.O.M

4th guffaw of the week kindly provided by Hill83. Luckily I had just put down my mug of minestrone soup before I saw it, or there could have been little tomatoey pasta hoops everywhere.

    £6-7m sale price?

Are there covenants in place? The recent Rugby Local Plan out for consultation just says (on page 22) "Implementation of site allocation DS3.9 can only occur when adequate replacement of pitch provision is made to the satisfaction of Rugby Borough Council and Sport England in accordance with...

    Why would anyone buy us?

Sadly it has NEVER looked like our stadium, especially from the outside. OK, the RICOH logos needed to be red, but whose idea was it not to make the superstructure sky blue? And inside, the tiny badges always were an embarrassment, made doubly so now by the correctly-sized Wasps ones. If and...

    £6-7m sale price?

I feel like a kid watching helplessly while a dog chews my oldest and most cherished toy to pieces. And all the adults just seem to be arguing with each other, instead of doing something about it.

    Coventry United

Hill, although we are adrift in an open boat on this ocean of despair, you sometimes make me laugh out loud. It’s like one of the wreck survivors has salvaged a cassette player and is playing the Benny Hill music. Thanks for cheering me up.

    Mowbray has gone

Doesn't seem like it to me ... http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/i-wont-burden-club-tony-11953597 And besides, Hill is watching the most authoritative source avidly for us, and not seen any confirmation yet.

    Meeting planned for Wednesday!!

“Positive and constructive” talks about the Academy, and (unless I’ve missed something) barely a response from anyone on here - not juicy enough material to argue about all day and night? I do realise it’s probably just another false dawn or somebody playing games, but there’s hope in the...

    Chris Anderson

Crowley’s tweet claims it was “SISU’s unwillingness to budge on the BPA deal” that led to CA leaving. Does that wording suggest that CA saw a viable way forward at the Butts, but SISU’s intransigence somehow scuppered it? As I think someone once memorably said on here, we are being treated...
