    SISU's Investment or lack of...

I think they'd snap anyone's hand off for a reasonable percentage of what they've put in!

Did we talk about the board or investment in the 70s/80s?

My (somewhat ageing) memory says that I was much more upset by Dennis going. Also by the time Psycho went, freedon of contract was in and it was much more difficult to hang on to players who wanted to go.

Available for a pound? But there's a catch...

Lots of questions in there - to pick out a couple: The whole purpose of incorporating a limited company is that the owner (shareholder) is not liable for its debts (except in certain specific circumstances - trading insolvent etc....). In groups of companies it is perfectly standard for the...

    SISU's Investment or lack of...

That's the way it works. If they make it as a loan, the interest is offsetable against tax so if we ever make a profit they'll have lots of losses to carry forward to remove the tax bill. If (when?) they sell the club, the tax losses will be one of the few assets the company will have!

Did we talk about the board or investment in the 70s/80s?

It's a long time ago and difficult to be sure about what we thought at the time, but my memory is that we'd just bought Barry Powell and the two of them had struck up a very promising midfield partnership. Dennis had also been a bit of a star with England under 23's (before the days of under...

    It's hoffman

Just read it Rob - let's hope that GH is making good headway with a group of Chinese billionaires!!

Did we talk about the board or investment in the 70s/80s?

True, that would have really pissed me off!!

    It's hoffman

I think this has to be possibly good news - at the very least hopeful news. The reason for the disappointment on the forum seems to be the rather large oversell by the CT. If they'd just done an article confirming that GH was looking for investment, most of us would have been pretty happy...

Did we talk about the board or investment in the 70s/80s?

Not completely true..... I think my blackest day in the 70's was when I heard that Dennis Mortimer had been sold to Villa. I seem to recall the Chairman (a certain J. Hill) justifying the sale on the grounds that it would put us on a solid financial footing and allow us to exploit the...

The Mirror: Ranson planing summer takeover bid!

The problem is, I'm not sure how you make a great business case out of CCFC.

    Afc coventry?

Legally you're of course quite right Tommy, but I bet that the AFC Wimbledon fans do see their club as the continuation of the old Wimbledon. Similarly, my local team, Telford United, went bust a few years back but the fans seem to regard AFC Telford as the "same club". Still, lets hope this...

The Mirror: Ranson planing summer takeover bid!

A promising start but it depends how much of the £20m - £30m (whatever the figure is) that SISU have invested, they are prepared to write off - together with how much money RR can raise.

Words of wisdom to see you through life's troubles.

If you could ask CCFC/SISU one thing?...

I think the only meaningful question is how much of their investment are they prepared to write off, if we can find a potential buyer.

If we'd had someone doing that in the Richardson years we might not be here now.

    The Statement.....

A transfer embargo means that you can't buy (or loan in) players. You can still sell or loan them out.

    The Statement.....

Well, better than nothing. If they've realised the importance of communication, then better late than never. They need to make some meaningful statements on Monday/Wednesday - not empty platitudes.
