    Proud Posh or Cobblers

It’s a fair point! As I recall, the match day programme in the mid-60s printing the suggested variation for that day’s game – for example “Wild Wolves or Bolton, Millers or anyone”. I doubt if anyone took it seriously though and actually sang what was printed.

Your very own "Overcome with emotion" thread...

You describe it exactly the way I remember it Torch. The sound from the city fans felt like an atomic bomb going off. Years later, I spoke to Micky Gynn about it, and was cheeky enough to suggest that he had mishit the shot, but he insisted he’d aimed it right into that bottom corner. Having...

    What a day

Yes I saw that too, it kind of summed up the day - thanks for snapping it. The blurry image perfectly reflects the state I was in by that time :)

    What a day

I wish I had time to “like” every post, apart from the boxer shorts obviously. One of my favourite days ever for a dozen reasons, and a real privilege to be there.

Are we talking about before the game or after?

Were you one of the 51,455

Yes, an unforgettable childhood memory. I vividly remember Wolves scoring first, and their fans chanting “Champions” in their end of the ground. It confused me a bit, as I wasn’t used to us being behind! The later scenes when we scored, and at the end after we’d won, were incredible.

The Butts - CRFC Confirms it is willing to join mediation talks

From a Council perspective, they’ve already helped CCFC with building a new stadium, and an international class stadium at that. CCFC bit off far more than they could chew, and then (under new owners) played silly buggers reneging on agreements and crassly playing hardball with politicians and...

The Butts - CRFC Confirms it is willing to join mediation talks

This is the wildcard which means it's too soon (IMO) to rule out a development at the Butts. But if the club were serious about this, and wanted people to support it, I don't understand why they wouldn't come out with illustrative plans. As has been said, an outline application can be put in...

The mammoth sum Coventry City owners Sisu would need to walk away without loss

Mr Carvell, last year’s president of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, also said Sisu “almost don’t deserve the abuse they are getting” and that no-one was “milking” the club They almost don’t deserve the abuse they are getting :) ...so they do deserve it then? What annoys me...

    Potential

Yep, and so abstract in fact that nobody can even find anything to say about it.

    Ivor Lawton

Yes, but he was an absolute revelation! Like Northern, I was convinced of his quality. Some of his passing and heading were top drawer. It all seemed to go to pot, and I still don’t really know why his progress ground to a halt. I think I came to the conclusion that he was just too bulky.

    Racist chants

And a poster who absolutely did NOT defend it has been called every foul name under the sun, and disowned as a CCFC supporter. Surely that’s a problem here too? Calling out racism is one thing, and a fine thing too. Wilfully projecting views onto someone which they don’t hold, and then...

    Racist chants

Pasty, I don’t know you and have never paid special attention to what you post. Have you written any racist stuff on any threads? If so, some of the things you’ve been subjected to might make sense, but if not I’m bewildered by the way you’re being treated. I’ve looked back through the thread...

    Racist chants

Come on martcov, even after the "Britain first" misunderstanding was cleared up? Racist views have been expressed on this thread, but not by Pasty even if I disagree with his (or her!) politics.

My brain’s fried too (under similar circumstances) and I did wonder if I was suffering from double vision. As it is, it’s a real morale-booster to discover that somebody’s in an even worse state than me :)

Not sure how you counted those, but the four blocks 531 to 528 appear to me to be more like 1000 each (approx. 40 rows averaging about 25 each). So 4000 for those 4 blocks, plus Alex's 800+ suggests around 5000 left to me. Happy to be corrected if my maths or eyesight are wrong. I'm really...

    Going out on a limb...

The stats don’t lie, and we’ve been proven to be by far the least effective team in the division all season. But they’ve basically played without an experienced keeper or decent strikers the whole time. A badly-performing team doesn’t necessarily mean the squad has to be replaced wholesale, it...

    Nobody still believes surely ?

I thought we needed 9 points from these last three games, so 1 doesn't really do it.
