    Thorn Starting to get impatient?

Personally, I've always thought that there were fixed term contracts and rolling contracts. Fixed term contracts ran for a fixed term and then stopped (although they could obviously be extended or renewed by mutual agreement), whilst rolling contracts "rolled on" until either party served the...

    Let me ask a question?

I completely agree with the general point that you're making, but I have different memories of the specifics of the cup run tickets. It's true that there weren't many of us at the Bolton game (bloody freezing!), but as I recall the away end was pretty full at Old Trafford. For the Stoke game I...

    Thorn Starting to get impatient?

Seems a bit odd to say that AT "seems to get off scot free of any responsibility at all" when half the posts on a thread like this seem to characterise him as "the worst manager of all time in the known universe" (OK, maybe mild exaggeration) :D

    Thorn Starting to get impatient?

I'd always assumed that "a rolling 12 month contract", simply referred to the notive period required. So at any point either party would have to give 12 months notice of termination.

Hoffman... where the f**k are you ?

Interesting comment Lord. My understanding was that when SISU/Ranson took the club over, RR put Prozone in as his investment. As I recall this was valued at one time at several million pounds - which given that Prozone was sold last year (?), he lost. On that basis he would have had to...

Hoffman... where the f**k are you ?

Careful VOR - some of us are only clinging on to sanity through the hope that a takeover may happen. If GH says it can't be done, we could be pushed over the edge :o:o

    Got my season ticket today...

Torchy - I started going to watch City in the late 60's and would have agreed with your comments in every close season since, up to now. We've had some great Boards (the years of DR) , some poor ones and some very poor ones - but I'm concerned that for the first time we have a Board/Owner that...

Ricoh Bid Rejected by Alan Higs charity

I originally posted against your comment because I thought your response to Jan was more than a little disrespectful to someone who's actually trying to do some good for the club (in addition to being arrogant, poorly argued and of course inaccurate). I suppose it would probably have been...

Ricoh Bid Rejected by Alan Higs charity

You just took a guess - and got it so wrong as to be embarressing for most people :D And then you miss the point - by miles..... The crowds in 67/68 were way above your "guess", because the club was successful then. The crowds have fallen since because we have been unusually unsuccessful...

Ricoh Bid Rejected by Alan Higs charity

Where do you start to answer this? Let's just note that the one fact you quote is nonsense - 18k average attendance in 1967/68 - I have to assume that the whole thing is a wind-up.

Waggott: We made a bid for Norwood

But season ticket sales are up on last year :D:D

    Can someone please explain

Which rather begs the question - what do you consider a "realistic bid" for a business whose liabilities exceed its assets, that is losing money every month (£500k according to TF recently) and has just had a massive decrease in revenue following its relegation?

    Answers From Footbal League

I think that they need to file their stat accounts for the year to June '11 to get the embargo lifted. The article is based on the fact that they've delayed releasing an interim statement on the 6 months results to December '11, which as interim (Half year) results are not subject to Football...

    ROD Next out the door?

You'd think so, but can't you just see Joy saying - "How many players in a soccerball team? - So why do you need any more???"

City confirm official bids for Keogh & Captancy if he stays

I think most people (myself included) cut SISU a lot of slack in the early days. Unfortunately (for them), over time people have judged them on their actions - particularly over the last 18 months. It can't be surprising that people read those comments and think..... Yeah, right!

WAGGOTT: We are ready to act...

I haven't had a chance to read Waggott's whole statement, so I was wondering if we've "left no stones unturned" again this year? If so, I can breathe easy at last..........

    Platt wants to win games

There was a time when I thought your username was just showing your sense of irony. Over the last 18 months, I've come to understand that it was a prediction.
