Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Registered 5 days ago - that's one hell of a coincidence as you say, but does seem unrelated. Off topic (only slightly!), but I hate this murky underworld of financial smartarses that are screwing us all. 'Overseas entity' ‘540 companies at this address’ ‘VIRGIN ISLANDS, BRITISH’ ‘holds 80...

Under any new owner, will the stadium be (at least initially) debt free? If so, the only debt that isn’t going to be dealt with (one way or another) by this process is whatever is owed to Sisu. How much is involved?

I’m afraid that petition goes to the heart of what made the move to Cov possible. I mean if you start a petition you get your aunts and uncles and the neighbour’s bloody dog to sign it don’t you? For fans of a famous sports team to only get 2968 online signatures from the population ‘in and...

But they could get around that by going back to Heineken

You should have just turned up at twenty past dressed like your avatar. The netball team would have been out of there fast enough.

    Ratings v Cardiff

Wilson 6 No real saves because everything was blocked. Punched effectively under heavy pressure. Doyle 5 I rate him very highly, but he’s playing on the wrong side and it showed today for the first time McFadzean 8 When he plays like this you wish he was 25 because I have no idea how we’ll...

    Tell me about Kevin Drinkell

He did look hopelessly out of touch here, and a massive disappointment

    Josh Eccles

I don't really get the surprise. Hasn't he always looked a fine prospect apart from when he was clearly out of position?

    Tell me about Kevin Drinkell

If that's true it's the most depressing thing I've heard for ages, and not just because of the grammar ;) Quinn would have been awesome.

Match Thread ⚽️ Cardiff City vs Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 15th Oct

Couldn’t be more pleased with that, after the absurd negativity on this thread before the game. Eccles and Allen in particular getting written off before we started. Don’t understand why people insist on rubbishing good players.

Never really got why Gilbert was perceived by so many to be some kind of enemy agent tbh. The only time he got me angry was when he announced there was going to be some exciting news regarding the Ricoh saga, got us all speculating about billionaires, and a few days later it turned out to be...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I hope people aren't over-interpreting the statement of cooperation between CCC and CCFC. Very welcome and refreshing, but to me it just looks like a common sense practical approach to ensure that matches can go ahead in the immediate future. I don't read anything into it about the wider issue...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

If the purpose of this is some kind of short-term deal to protect the interests of HMRC or to keep the stadium operational, it’s questionable but understandable. If it’s somehow necessary to reduce the Council’s financial losses (bonds?) it makes the whole monumental cockup even worse. If it...

Yes it was pretty bizarre. Given the prevailing rates at the time, 6.5% seemed way over what they needed to offer, and was in itself a warning sign as you say. If (as it seems) they’d even got players promoting those bonds to people it’s sad tbh.
