Who do you think had a look at him then if it wasn't our scouts covering Europe? I agree Vivash and his connections to Chelsea no doubt gave us the initial insight.

Agree 100%. perhaps not YouTube but there are plenty of data driven platforms that are exponentially growing due to this approach to signings facilitated by technological advancements.

Your right but wrong as this topic is about scouting. He was registered to Chelsea but he hadn't kicked a ball professionally in England for 2 seasons when he joined us. We signed him based on his form in European leagues. Or maybe your right and we signed him based on his off season kick abouts...

Your entitled to that view but you realise some of the biggest managers in the game have admitted signing players based of video highlights. There are also platforms like Wyscout that cater for the money ball approach to scouting. As I said in another thread I know from a family contact clubs...

If you can provide proof that suggests you know better and 'We don't operate like that' I would be happy to stand corrected. A family member I have is very close to an agent who regularly deals with Newcastle United transfers and says it's common practice for clubs to take a punt on players...

    Membership / Season Tickets

I guess there is no news on the match packages for this season? Maybe due to restricted numbers? I normally buy a 12 match package as I can't make all ever g games. However if there not doing them I might just buy a ST

I have a suspicion Balden likes to review highlights videos and we don't do full comprehensive due diligence. Baka - saw his highlights reel on a scouting website. It really made him out to be a rough diamond with all the characteristics to be a top player. In reality he displays those every...

    Free kicks and corners

This 100% look at the winner Mcfaz scored vs QPR on the end of an aggressive corner delivery with whip curling towards the pen spot. Now its all floaty with no pace on the ball. Where is the variety? Our set piece record is appalling. Anyone remember the Brentford one where they chipped it...

    Taxi cancelled for Robins

It's a setback but please see the positives. Godden is back and hopefully should be fit to start next game. We kept a clean sheet, we only dropped 2 points against the teams around us. I am gutted we didn't win and I think Robins set up was poorly judged, however, don't be reactionaries, this...

Godden has a great record against Wycombe if he is fit he should play. Feel we should keep 3 at the back as they are one of the few teams we should be able to build from the back against and dictate the play.

Lots of opinion but surely we need some criteria to benchmark the club's by: 1. Size of city (inc how many clubs in that city) 2. Historical achievements 3. Average attendance over the last decade 4. Record signing fee paid (with indexation applied to give current value) 5. Average away...

Biamou still has lots to offer

Can't disagree and aside from Fabio Cannavaro who won the Balon dor for the first time at 33 years old i cant think of many outfield players who hit peak form after 30yo. A few keepers coukd come into that bracket however.

Biamou still has lots to offer

Football has moved on from the 80s, 30 years old is comparatively young and assuming players stay in shape 34 seems to be the age most (Ronaldo excluded) start to slow down. I think we should keep McFaz too and he is well over 30. Up top we need to allocate a decent percentage of the budget as...

Grendel, did not think it were possible but either Peter Duckett is on the wind up or you have found someone with an even more disproportionate view of Max's abilities than yourself.
