I admire your optimism. I think the only way we really recover is by adding quality who can quickly get in the team and make a real difference. Id personally say a striker and central midfield at least.
The problem is he isn't consistently good enough and doesn't fit our best style of play, where we need a strong central striker who can hold the ball up, play others in and get in the box.
It's time for a change and he probably feels the same.
The pressure has now arrived and may build quickly if we don't turn form around soon.
Which players can rise to that and which will choke?
Id worry about central midfield and the strikers mainly.
In the end we lack quality it's always going to catch up with you. Let's hope for a couple of quality players ready to go not speculative development types.
It would be very brave to drop Rudi. A few months ago he was being talked about as the best in the championship, premier league quality.
Personally not sure where he fits right now. If Saka plays anyhow.
Simms deserves his chance and shouldn't have lost his place. Hard for him to switch on...
Quite a test coming up for Lampard. Does he persist with Wright and Rudoni because he perceives them as 'quality'?
Does he rest MVE?
Does he stop MVE getting forward as much to shore up the defence?
If Thomas is fit he certainly adds a set piece threat we've been missing.
I just hope Rudoni gets out the way and let's MVE and Saka do their thing.
MVE needs to hold back and defend more as it's becoming obvious to opponents we have a real weakness in behind him.
We need to see real fight...
I don't really get the play Wright and Simms together line. It's never really worked. They don't combine or really pass to each other, in fact neither does passing much. They play as individuals.
It would have been interesting how effective your forward line would have been if MVE would have just sat back and played as a right full back.
Let Sakamoto play as an out and out winger.
The thing that cost us most last night was MVE getting caught repeatedly stranded upfield.
It happens quite a lot but Ipswich are quicker and brighter than most.
We should let Saka do his job more and get MVE to defend properly. Certainly against better teams. You get the feeling he doesn't...
Rudoni seems to cramp what Saka and MVE can do well. Id rather have more power, cover through the middle.
Just let Saka, EMC have some space to work in wide.
Likewise get our strikers central and in the box more.
Rudoni just looks like a luxury player who gets in the way at the moment.
I doubt Lampard will drop him though because he's viewed as 'quality'.
The Wright, Simms problem is getting serious. Maybe they will offload Simms in January and replace him. But that situation is shaping up badly for the...
