His record at Everton and West Ham is not bad though and he has won a European trophy. West Ham are doing worse since he left and he is is a stable manager. Even if he is not a swashbuckiling type, those credentials appeal to me.
A different take on a poll?
1. RVN
2. CARSLEY
3. MOYES*
4. LAMPARD
3, 1, 4, 2
*Have included Moyes as Doug likes a promotional clause and if we offered a 3 year contract with a hefty promotion bonus he might be interested.
When you have provided a deck containing CBs like Kitching for 4.5m and Wingers like EMC for 4.5m it's easy to see why Austin might well been relieved to see Mark carry the can.
Lets look at it from Marks perspective, before any legally binding settlement agreement has been signed. The other party (King) puts out a number of statements in the public domain about your troubled personal relationships and the circumstances leading to the demise of Adi. And then goes on to...
I cannot believe we are considering such an average manager to take forward Marks legacy with the club. I am sure some of the squad would fan boy over lampard but that is not what we need.
Lampard proved beyond all doubt (in my mind) during his second spell at Chelsea that is is not able to...
Can 100% be seen that way but if the next appointment is poor he will be at risk of further dealing with falling player values alongside falling attendances.
Robins was let down in the summer by the lack of investment in midfield and with all the changes with coaches this season, more than any...
Think there could be a record low total to make the play offs this season as the spread of points seems like it will be even across a large number of teams.
Agree as does Kitching.
We spent 7 million on Binks and Kitching who appear to be CBs that function far better in a back 5, then switched to a back 4 and spent money on players better suited to 4 3 3. Somewhere there was muddled thinking.
Kitching was positionally suspect at times and I would expect Rudoni or JDS to start as if we have ambitions to play an expansive game we need both wing backs to be effective attacking outlets.
Didn't you think Saka otherwise was part of the team improvement, especially in the first half. MVE played well and I think he and Saka link really well.
Also Rudoni didn't he change the game and might be worth persisting with at LWB and a better option than Kitching

MVE Lati Kitching JDS
Saka Eccles Sheaf Wright
BTA Bassette
This team restores the MVE and Saka link that has served us so well. It also has our two forwards in who are best as pressing from the front.
Absurd is quite a stong word. Talk me through the Bassette signing. We had already had a deep squad and a riches of forward players. You think MR asked for another forward? Or was is it more likely the scouting team and Doug (with MRs awareness perhaps) decided at 19 he was too good a prospect...
This is where astute management comes into play. Sadly we appear to be rushing to make subs as we have a deep squad. Part of our secret in seasons gone by has been us having a well drilled team that knew how to play to its strengths, the operating environment and player expectations mean we dont...
