Fair comment/challenge, and given there was only 0.5 between them in my ratings, I don't really have strong feelings about either of their performances.
He is a confidence player and needs consistent support from the fans to reach the levels he was at in 2023/2024 season. I am not sure given he has 2 goals in 2 matches that he can't go on a run now and I hope Lampard puts some faith in him for the next couple of games at least. BTA seems to be...
Wilson 6 - did nothing wrong
KKH 6 - decent first start
Thomas 6 - couple of poor passes from the back but solid
Bidwell 6 - Not a CB and an accident waiting to happen againt better teams
Brau 6.5 - balance and looks like he can deliver really well
Allen 7 - full of running and did the basics...
We reached the FA cup semi and playoff final those runs alone are worth millions. I agree King is speculating knowing full well be have assests on our books that could balance the finances if we needed to.
We are three signings from being very useful. Need to create space with Collins, Bidwell and possibly Allen or Eccles or BTA, spme of who would command a decent sum. We could then bring in a ST, RAM and an experienced CB.
Agree, need to keep him, but a loan wfor 6 months would make a lot of sense. Loan to league 1 or a European team and I think Bassette scores on a regular basis and that could be transformative for his development. Getting cameos for us is not the right situation for him.
We ideally need 30+ goals from Simms, Wright, BTA, it's possible but it's an area of the pitch I would like to see strengthened if we want to be in and around the top of the league table all season.
I my view Frank's legendary status at Chelsea carries weight regardless of who's currently in charge. 211 goals and three Premier League titles don't just disappear because there's new ownership. That kind of institutional respect still matters in football, even if it's not some dramatic inside...
That's quite a strong reaction to what I thought was a fairly straightforward observation! I wasn't suggesting anything groundbreaking - just that having someone with existing relationships at a club can sometimes open doors for loan deals. It happens all the time in football. But fair enough if...
Solid signing and pleased to see doug use the loan market. Surely we will get someone from Chelsea on loan too, they have a huge squad and hopefully frank and the assistant who also coached at Chelsea can persuade a wonder kid or two to come and be part of the promotion push.
