Unit empty next to CCFC shop.......

The Buffs is closing in December and a few lads I know who drink in there want to take it over and then turn it into a club for us fans. Can't see it happening but it's a good idea.

Just seen this picture of -

Stood outside the pub after Saturdays game and saw a chap walk by with his young son both wearing our colours. The little lad looked downcast and his dad looked like he was consoling him. It made me think about when me and my dad would be leaving Highfield Road back in the Jimmy Hill era,but...

    Our gates

That is bad news as I know he's been a fan for a long time. I got in Saturday with my mate and at the end thought we'd better start winning soon or there will be more away fans than home by Christmas !

    Our gates

I had a feeling you'd knocked it on the head as haven't seen you around. You said your dad was pissed off too. Saturday was strange as many weren't in the pub or ground like usual, die hards even jacking it in now. After the match the pub was empty so fans just went home. The woes of a City fan !

Lee Mack - Funniest thing on British TV at the moment

Would I lie To You is the best comedy panel show on the telly. Lee Mack is brilliant but so are the regulars too. When you talk about who is funny you'll always get a mixed reaction, I find Jason Manford unfunny but he seems to be popular. I said recently Billy Connelly is my favourite comic but...

    Things From Your Childhood

Looking back there were obviously a few sadists there as some teachers never caned you. One or two teachers earned respect through fear, while others got it by being friendly and being trendy etc. My two sons I know would have chinned any teacher who hit them, not because they are yobs but would...

    Things From Your Childhood

I told my parents when I was about thirteen/fourteen that the teacher had caned me just for missing detention. My mum said I must have deserved it, while my dad added don't cry about it and just take it. Parents today would be straight down the school and kicking off. As I wrote earlier times...

    Things From Your Childhood

Times have changed Nick. Back then the cane was seen as the answer to any behaviour they deemed as being troublesome. My son never believed me when I told him as he never had even heard of corporal punishment. My dads generation got absolutely thrashed for sod all. Was it a good thing ? Tell you...

    Things From Your Childhood

A teacher at Cally Vic Webb was an ex army major and nobody fucked with him. He dressed smart with shiny shoes and expected us pupils to be the same. I saw him punch lads, grab you by the neck, throw board rubbers about, and put fear in to you. Yet he took the rugger classes and was fair in...

    Things From Your Childhood

Looking back at schooldays there were some sadistic bastards dishing out punishment. One teacher had a thin cane and he'd bring it down from above his head, and you'd hear a whooshing sound and he'd have a demonic grin on his face.Another at Caludon would throw a board rubber at heads just for...

    Things From Your Childhood

I was telling my son how we got the cane at school on the hands.I remember getting it at Caludon and the teacher really laid it on and my fingertips were bleeding. My son looked shocked and said Dad why didn't you chin him ! Anyone who was at Cally at that time knows how they'd dish it out often...
