We wouldn't have got him. He wouldn't have been first choice, or on the money he would demand. So what would be his incentive to join? He would be a useful member of the squad, but targets have to be realistic.

Simms was on a goal-scoring run, though. Wright shouldn't have just been handed the shirt, he should have had to earn it back.

It's obvious that Wright is a better overall player than Simms, but dropping Simms when he was bang in form was a significant mistake, imo.

That's an over-reaction, I agree.
