Match Thread ⚽️ Coventry City vs Blackpool Match Thread - Saturday 29th Oct

The illness on the camp played it’s part in today’s result obviously. Rose, Vik and probably Eccles would of started. Robins should of put Vik on earlier when we started to get on top 2nd half. Hamer, O’Hare and Palmer (out of position) decent. Kane’s defending is shocking, although he got...

    Palmer

Best signing in a long time, exactly what we needed as well, someone like O' Hare who can unlock defences. I think (like most people here) that a midfield of Sheaf, Hamer, Palmer & O'Hare behind Vik is as good as anything in this division.

Match Thread ⚽️ Coventry City vs Blackpool Match Thread - Saturday 29th Oct

Robins said Todd Kane is still getting up to speed, so I would expect that means Eccles at right back on Sat. Still a midfield of Hamer, Allen, Sheaf and Palmer behind Vik, with O'Hare and Tavares available as impact subs is strong. 3-1 City

    Injuries

I think we've been slightly lucky with the actual players that have got injured. We have strikers to cover Godden & Waghorn (Tavarres & Walker) and Kane and Eccles can cover Dabo. If we lost Fadz or Bidwell we would be really f*cked.

Match Thread Tuesday v Rotherham Match Thread

Happy with that - Shame Palmer not starting, but they are being careful with him and am sure Rotherham will be putting the boot in tonight. Waghorn has looked very sharp coming off the bench recently, and will be a good foil for Vik

    Maximum Biamou

I actually thought Max should of a got a deal last summer. He did alright during our first season up. Of course he would of been back up to Vik and Godden, and possibly Walker, but we didn't and signed Waghorn and so far that hasn't paid off.

    Bidwell & Panzo V Maatsen & JCS

Prefer Panzo to JCS. Panzo is tougher, no way he would be bullied like JCS was at Luton last season.

Match Thread ⚽️ Stoke City vs Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 22nd Oct

If we’re going to lose one player for a long spell with injury, we’d probably pick Matty (with all due respect). Great finisher but he doesn’t work with Vik, and with Walker, Tavares and Waghorn we do have some cover there. Not sure what’s happened with Godden. Since we’ve been back in The...

Match Thread ⚽️ Coventry City vs Sheffield United Match Thread - Wednesday 19th Oct

That was one of the worst games I have ever seen. However, you will always get these matches across a 46 game season, and I was impressed how we battled, and competed against one of the most physical teams in the league. Our flowing football from last season is non existent at the moment, but...

    Ratings

Thought Allen was decent last night. Was trying to make something happen at least. Turgid game, 6's across the board, except for the following Wilson 7 Dabo 5 Allen 7 Godden 4 Palmer 7 Waghorn 7

    Josh Eccles

Thought Josh did well last night. Some good tight dribbling around their box which caused them problems. Strange decision to throw him back to RWB when we had Kane on the bench. This will probably be Kelly's last season, so a good chance for Eccles to compete with Sheaf, Hamer and Allen for...

Match Thread ⚽️ Coventry City vs Sheffield United Match Thread - Wednesday 19th Oct

Jamie Allen will not be dropped after having a decent game (from all accounts) on Sat. I would hope at least Palmer will get a start, as the team that started at Cardiff is far from our best 11, and without Hamer, O'Hare & Palmer lacks creativity. Might be ok for slogging out an away win, but...

Palmer for Godden, Rose for Doyle. Back to the box formation now we have decent midfield options with Hamer and Kelly back

As if Robins would ever make that change. I agree with you though

Transfer Rumour Kasey Palmer - Confirmed

We knew Palmer was a gamble, with his lack of games and problems with previous managers. However, we saw yesterday how talented he is, he has also surprised me how hard he works. He won lots of tackles, and has an edge to his game. I mean, it can’t be easy playing under Nigel bloody Pearson.

    Matty godden

I was watching Godden a lot today. He works bloody hard, not just the clinical finisher. He hasn’t got blistering pace, but he never did. I don’t think it works with Vik as a partnership. Godden needs to be fed, and without O’Hare, Hamer and Palmer (up until today) he’s not going to get those...

    Player ratings vs Middlesbrough (H)

How Palmer gets anything less than an 8 is beyond me. His clever passing and flicks were brilliant. Very excited to see him and O’Hare link up soon. Bit worried about this Vik & Godden partnership. Not working, and Godden hasn’t scored for 4 games. Surely he will go back to the box when O’Hare...

Hope Robins starts Palmer, behind Vik & Godden. Jamie Allen & Sheaf in the middle. Though wouldn't surprise me if he gives Eccles a start and pushes Allen further forward (Yikes). Everyone crying out for Palmer & Tavarres after 10 minutes.

    Cwr post match comments

To the rumour of a interested party in CCFC & WASPS. Makes perfect sense. They get the CBS, and 2 sporting teams. I am sure they would be aware there would be more money making potential in the football club, decent investment and we could have a good go at the Premiership. Any investor will...

How would you set up to change it?

Harsh. He played a crucial role at the end of our first season back in the Championship, along with Marty James in keeping us up. He missed most of last season, but made Godden’s goal against Bristol City with a sublime pass. He was also excellent against Stoke in the last game of the season. I...
