Europa Final: Villarreal v Man Utd

Just in case anyone wasn't aware the match is streamed for free on YouTube by BT, think its part of their contract agreement. Champions League will be the same on Saturday. Will be giving it a watch when the GB ice hockey game is over.

Thought about that myself but its hard to work out at the moment I think. What we're looking for is what the numbers should be once the vaccination program is done and things are back to 'normal'. Then how does that compare to other thinks like flu and other transmissible diseases. Wonder what...

Big jump in cases today, past the 3K mark for the first time in over 6 weeks. Fingers crossed hospitalisations don't rise, can't tell what's happening there as the hospital admission stats haven't been updated for 4 days.

I had the chance to move to Australia a few years back and didn't. Regret that decision but didn't really have a choice. As an only child with elderly parents who need caring for you can't really bugger off to the other side of the planet. Mate who did make the move says his quality of life...

Why do so many people still talk about the countries economy as if it operates the same way as your personal credit card bill?

From the Canadian side it seems pretty much a non-issue, they are more concerned with not doing anything to upset CETA. Although their farmers have certainly taken note that Australian farmers are getting tariff and quota free access to the UK market. Freedom of movement with Australia and...

Really hope we're not going to mess this up when we're on the brink of getting back to something approaching normal. The local lockdowns seem a complete shambles. Stuck on a government website on a Friday night and didn't think to let anyone in a position of authority in those areas know. Now...

After the vote last night it seems we're now the only G7 country not to have backed Bidens plans to curb tax avoidance by large companies. The vote wasn't even to fully back it, just to have a review in the next six months to establish how it would affect the taxpayer.

    What's your political compass?

I’ve given it serious consideration in the past but it’s just a wasted vote really so what’s the point.

    Grealish reaction

He's spot on here. Annoys me how often you hear 'if he'd gone down it would have been a penalty'. Also this thing where any contact is a penalty, that's not what the rules for a foul are its supposed to be careless, reckless or using excessive force.

    Well Done Leicester

I think a Leicester team that potentially loses Maddison and has those three approaching retirement, although to be fair Schmeichel probably has a few years left, looks a very different prospect to the one they have now. Its not an easy task to stay at a level where you're pushing for trophies...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

In practice how will that work? The farming industry is saying that tariff free access both ways will in reality be of benefit to overseas farmers importing rather than our domestic industry exporting. They are saying imports coming into the country will be at a lower price than is achievable...

But if the argument is that farmers here won't be able to compete on price with Asia Pacific farmers in our own domestic market how are we going to get it on sale over there at a viable price? Or is the suggestion that they will be happy to pay a premium because its labelled British?

Weird though, why hound one of your best players out of the club. Grealish has got up to all sorts during covid but nobody says a word and Villa fans aren't blaming everything that goes wrong on him.
