I think he was on about Pressley's signings are released because they are crap, neither of them were signed by Pressley. That's Manset, Slager and Seabourne who have been signed and released in the last 12 months. Not to mention the long list of extremely poor loan signings.

Exactly the proposed scenario requires a lot of luck and it isn't as easy as the OP makes it sound, it requires us to do a lot of things that we haven't been able to do. I could as easily say if we get back to back promotions in the next two years will SISU have been justified in their actions.

It's a fair point, if we got promoted back to the championship with lots of good players from the academy and a significantly reduced wage bill and agree a long term deal at the Ricoh then it could be argued that we are in a better position than the years leading up to relegation. I'm unsure...
