We Have The Best Players (Rose)

He looked good at times when he first signed. Great delivery, technique. Positionally he was all over the place. We conceded a lot of goals at the tail end of the 21/22 season from Kane playing opposition players onside, or not tracking. Reminded me a little of Grimmer.

Match Thread Confirmed Ins and Outs 2023/2024 Summer

Wilson deserves to start as No 1 next season without a doubt. You can see his and the defence's confidence in him improve dramatically as the season progressed. He's also cut out the hesitating when the ball has been played back to him, and the mad rushes off his line. Despite that, I am still...

Match Thread Confirmed Ins and Outs 2023/2024 Summer

Wasn't that impressed to be honest + I thought he was more of a holding midfielder? Thought he looked a little lost in the games he played. Was more impressed with Burroughs at LWB, but then he kind of disappeared.

    Transfer Rumour Panzo coming back?

I'd be happy with Panzo coming here permanently. He was really good up until that Wrexham game. He lost form as did all our defenders when Fadz got injured. Then Panzo himself got injured and Doyle cemented his place in the team.

    2023-24 New Kit Thread

Always liked the sky blue and navy stripes. No red on the away strip please. I want the Chocolate Brown away kit, but they don't have the balls to do that I fear.

    Jay DaSilva Signs!

I think Bidwell is one of the highest paid players in the squad, wouldn't surprise me if he moved on, and we bring in a younger LWB to be back up to Dasilva. Heard that JWE is coming back for a season long loan.

    Retained List

Glad Kelly got a deal. Stepped up well in the last few games. No surprise with the others. Plenty new faces will be coming in and I just hope we may see some of those loan players back next season.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

Finally watched highlights of the game this morning. My god, we were lucky to be only 1-0 down at HT. Adebayo's miss was criminal, and watching their first disallowed goal from the corner, I am not seeing much wrong. Their other 2 were clear handballs. Reminded me of that 1st half against...

This years loans and signings and how they performed

Doyle & McNally both superb. I think we'll get McNally on a permanent, and I am sure MR may try and get Doyle for another loan. Panzo - I liked him. He had a few dodgy games after the World Cup though (Wrexham & WBA away) and lost his place. Think he's been treated a bit harshly by fans. If we...

    Consolidation

Despite our great run this season, I did miss our lovely passing football which disappeared (and for good reason) once we lost O'Hare and then Palmer. With those 2 back next season, and a couple of new strikers, I hope we get back to that style, and win the league. I wouldn't bet against it

    Hamer post match comments

Agree with that. He needs work, and games but there’s a player there. He’s not getting games at Arsenal next season. Another loan or would Arsenal be tempted by £1.5 million offer?

    Hamer post match comments

It’s actually a smart move for both Vik & Gus to sign the new deals being offered. Both will have clauses in the player’s favour, and they will be star players ( in the Championship) next season., with much improved wages. If they both went to the Premier League, it’s going to be to the likes of...

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

once we lost Palmer and then Allen this season, it became route one to Vik. It worked pretty well(certainly away from home), but the continuing partnership of Godden / Vik was always worrying. It never has worked. I thought Palmer looked sharp when he came on but faded quickly. That was it. We...

The Luxury of a Big Squad

A big squad means lots of players unhappy they are not playing, therefore harder to build the spirit and closeness in the dressing room. I am sure all our issues at the start of the season along with the double injury to O'Hare (from all accounts very popular with the team) helped us in a...

    Viveash New Contract

You can tell from the interviews with Viveash that he's a charismatic, likeable bloke, but also won't take any sh*t. Some of our football since he has come in has been brilliant, and he can adapt when we need results, and change to a more direct game. I am sure the players enjoy his training...

    Anyone else's sleep fucked?

Walker, Rose or McGuire? Got a feeling Palmer will be on the bench tomorrow. Great player to have on the bench even if he isn't fit.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

If we don't win, we won't definitely lose Hamer. Vik probably though. No guarantee if we went up they would stay either though. Either way, Robins has a re-build project from May 28th. If we are still in The Championship, I fully expect he will add some good signings, to complement what will...

    First city game

Yeah remember that game. David Smith was tripped in the box in the 2nd half and we equalised with a penalty. They dumped us out of the cup in the replay, which was one of the worst City performances I'd ever seen. The dark days of Terry Butcher & Don Howe

    First city game

City v Oxford Utd - April 1988. Mark Lawrenson had recently become the Oxford manager (his first job) to try and save them from relegation. Bit of a dour game, but Big Cyrille rose highest from a late free kick to power home a header. 1-0 City. Always remember my Dad's disappointment about not...

    Premier League thread

Man City. What a bore. They had the money to build a new stadium, recruit one of the best managers in the world, and a blank chequebook. No player wants to leave City as they won't get paid more any where else. I know Football can never really be a level playing field but their dominance has...
