    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

It's simple maths. Let's say 1 in 10k in that age group would die from a blood clot potentially linked to a vaccine but the chance of death from Covid is 1 in 25k. In those circumstances it makes no sense for them to have that vaccine, esp when others are available that don't have that link...

Tell me why I’m wrong - vaccinate the vulnerable then let it rip

Don't know a great deal about it but from the little I know it seems they were able to get a head start from stuff for other coronaviruses that already existed and they'd be a lot more people working on it and funding available to speed it up compared to normal. Still not ideal as no time to...

Tell me why I’m wrong - vaccinate the vulnerable then let it rip

Probably not but the closest you'd get is to heavily restrict movement from places that aren't taking it seriously like Brazil. Might make them take it more seriously if it massively hampers their trade given Bolsonaro's entire excuse is economy.

    Jodi Jones

Tell that to the minimum wage workers that get injured at work and can no longer do their jobs. Do you think they'd keep you on? Or give you a new contract at a time when you were unable to do the job they ask of you at a level you've never proved yourself at? And if they did to then give you...

He's been paid and had good medical help to recover for the last three years almost. We gave him a new contract last year and he's played zero times for the team (of course he'd be prefering it if he was). Fact is if he got pay as you play you could count this years contract as being a down...

Match Thread Bournemouth (A) Sat 10th

If there's any danger of Godden aggravating an injury bench him for Gyo today and save him for Rotherham. Eccles deserves to keep his place i just hope that if he has a hard day today it doesn't shake his confidence for thu. Expecting a loss so not going to get too disheartened if we do...

Biden attempting to tackle international tax avoidance

Thing that I'm not on board with is that it's talking about corp tax and how it should be related to where the sale is made, but that's a conversation about sales taxes, like VAT. Where the sale is made could result in poorer countries doing almost all the work making products etc but getting...

    Death List 2021

They'll have been preparing for this for years. Decades probably. They're going to use that now they've got the chance.

Biden attempting to tackle international tax avoidance

One of the problems with a global economy is that businesses can set nations against each other to give them low tax rates and investment grants etc to entice them in. It needs looking at globally and at least this conversation might start it, esp coming from such a big player as the US. I'm...

    New Keeper

I'm sure it will get his name mentioned in conversations but that doesn't necessarily result in offers for his services, even if he is available for free. Clubs will look at his previous record and see he's hardly played before that, be aware he came in due to injury to our main keeper and that...

    Championship Standard Players

Probably. He's still young and adjusting to a huge step up in class. Time is on his side to get better. I just don't want to be the team that irons them out to give to someone else. They could let us have him back if they got to cancel any remaining payments but i don't know if we'd consider...

    New Keeper

You say that but he's been a back-up his entire career. He was back-up for us in L1 and we were hardly promotion favourites. Of course if a team enquired about taking him on terminate his contract but i genuinely can't see a team wanting to take him off our hands. He's not young so I doubt he's...

    Dan Bartlett

How many players have we got that are back-up first teamers that when needed to come in due to injury/suspension/form are totally off the pace due to lack of match practice? These games should be used to at least give them that. If you're signing players just to fill the U23's without expecting...

    New Keeper

Both still have a year on their contracts and I certainly can't see anyone wanting to take Wilson off our hands. Chances are he's here next year too cos we can't afford to pay players off and then sign a replacement.

    Dan Bartlett

But you must surely sign them with some hope that they will develop into a potential first teamer. Otherwise what's the point? Signing someone you know isn't going to be good enough? You're just wasting wages and we haven't got any budget to waste on U23 fillers. Taking up spots that could...

    Lost the Dressing Room

The location we got him from was Chelsea. That was the last club he was contracted to before he became a free agent. His loan finished before his Chelsea contract ran out.
