Absolutely true. But I was adopted at Birth and ended up with an old english family. Apparently when he was released from the POW Camp after the war he was allowed to remain in the country and met his future wife.

Traced my family back to Germany and the Czech Republic (A German soldier that was put in a POW Camp in the UK and A Jewish woman that escaped here), but I'm second generation English. I am proud to be English.
