Madsen deemed good enough to start straight away for QPR. How we need strengthening in CM.

Our midfield have been nothing short of pathetic. The most timid midfield performance. Bristol City far more aggressive in the movement and tackling. Torp and Eccles so slow on the ball and so slow closing down. Latibeudiere, Dovin and Wright only ones coming out with any credit.

    Haji Wright

I thought Wright looked more confident and aggressive against Oxford compared with last season. Hopefully he continues this as it changes him to a top player. If he can be more consistent within games he will be Premier league quality. I think at the moment at least, Simms is going to be hit or...

    Milan van Ewijk Appreciation Thread

Getting to the byline is something he didn't do enough of last season. If he keeps doing so, he will create a lot of chances. Sakamoto's weight of pass is so good, it means Van Erwijk rarely needs much adjustment. They compliment each other so well.

For the second goal Bidwell checked over his shoulder a few times to be aware of the Oxford player but then got drawn beneath the ball, which he didn't need to do, leaving the guy in acres of space. He did something very similar in an earlier game. I can't imagine that has been a coaching...

I wonder if Eccles would agree to dye his hair sky blue for the rest of the season to make it is easier to distinguish him from Torp and make our ratings more accurate?

Thought Latibeudiere's performance was higher than both Thomas's so far. His defending 1v1 near the end of the game v Harris was first class.

I would need to watch the game again because I didn't think that was the case at all.

Thought Binks was really good. Some good headers defensively and offensively. His long range shot was a stunner. Nothing got past him. His diagonals to Van Erwijk were sublime. Curious why some people rated him so low?

I can enjoy the weekend now. Phew. Some very good performances from MVE, Binks, Rudoni and Wright. Thought DaSilva was good again coming on and linking well.

Feel we need to get next goal early to take the pressure off. Thomas-Asante coming on at some point is an exciting prospect.

Torp and Eccles much better in there. Winning back a lot of possession. Haji Wright's best all-round game for us so far. Van Erwijk and Sakamoto combination is sublime.

It will be interesting to see who Robins sees as his first choice LCB. I prefer Binks but Kitching played well on Tuesday. We know, despite form last season, he favoured DaSilva in the early part of last season, so wouldn't be surprised if he was to start after a good cup game. However, I much...

Was Roland Nilsson our best ever Right Back ?

I would agree with Brian Borrows. Nilsson was certainly class but Borrows was talented and a great servant to the club.

Disagree with the all or nothing criticism of Allen. He lost the ball too easily on a few occasions but along with Rudoni, he changed the tempo when he came on. His movement to receive the ball and his pressing was much better than Eccles and Torp.

Real lack of control and movement. Very predictable. Kitching has played well but otherwise very drab.
