Dovin is nowhere near where he will end up. It comes with experience with a GK. With Rudoni we won't know until it happens. His improvement under Lampard has been massive. But it would need to continue just for him to become an average Prem player.

That's the thing with a goalscorer. They have it in their locker but they still need to have the chances. Just been looking at his stats. Conversion rate to shots is nearly 25% with another 2 shots hitting the woodwork. Will be harder in the Prem though as we would be playing with our backs to...

We have Wright. He would score goals in the Prem but he wouldn't have it as easy as now. Even after taking time to get back after injury he is on 0.72 goals per 90 minutes. Good with both feet.

    Decently contracted squad...

Excellent as a Championship side but more restricted if and when we get promotion.

Bristol City are away to Burnley. If they don't win that game we're still in the top 6. If WBA don't win at Norwich we also stay above them. There's a good chance we stay in 5th even if we lose.

Our best realistic hope would be to become a yo-yo club. That's the same for everyone these days. The important thing is to come back down stronger than we go up.

    Summer Transfer Window

Not when we see the same sides that go up come straight back down. Should we throw the towel in before we get a chance to play a Prem game?

    Summer Transfer Window

All it takes is a little luck. We've not had massive investment but are up there with the teams that have in our quest to reach the Prem. We're a club in ascendancy. Investing untold millions isn't guaranteed success but it helps. Investing £400m over 16 years sounds massive but it's only 25m...

    Leicester

Just like Leicester they expected much more. After our last 25 years our expectations would be lower. Hopefully we could get over the constant defeats and enjoy the moment because it can get toxic very quickly with constant defeats.

I haven't seen anyone underestimate the task of staying up if we get there. Dovin has been very good since he came back into the team. MVE would prove his worth. But he wouldn't be able to have the freedom he now has. Defend or attack. Grimes was a Prem player at the start of his career. He...

This insurance policy with Paterson is starting to look worthwhile.

Missed out on the Sky money then missed out on the ITV money. All downhill from there.

Do you agree it wasn't a good move to constantly spend money we didn't have considering the implications it had to our club?

We overspent while in the Prem. We enjoyed the very well paid players we were signing for millions with gates of about 12k and before Sky money got silly.

You're totally correct on the mismanaged bit. The ITV digital bit came after we had overspent which made it a little worse. But we were already fooked by then.

I remember a club that spent money it didn't have. They ended up being owned by a hedge fund. They ended up in League 2. They played their home games in Northampton and then Birmingham. Luckily they got a manager called Robins who whatever was thrown at him took the side from League 2 to the...

So who realistically are the teams left fighting for 5th and 6th

I had us win Sunderland, draw Sheffield United and WBA with a loss to Burnley. I would like to think 3 points minimum from them 3 games now. Wright with his confidence back added to the way we dispatched Sunderland will have the others worried about playing us. Who here would like to play a...
