    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

I think you are probably right, but I also think if he can maintain his improved performances the fans will get behind him and all will be well. I don't think there is neccessarily any permanent damage done. I can't think of any examples ATM but I think there will be plenty of similar instances...

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

Strangely, Godden and Simms both got 2 hattricks in quick succession. (4 days and 8 days)

    Simms and Wright .....

You say that, but only West Brom and Preston have taken maximum points from us so far. We still have Ipswich, Leeds, Southampton, Hull, Cardiff, and Watford to play from the current top half, so let's see at the end of the season how it looks. (E&OE)

    Penalties

He will miss sooner or later, most penalty takers do. But it works for him at the moment. Hopefully he can modify his style when he needs to.

    Championship thread 23/24

If we lose to WBA the best results for us is Preston beat Hull. Then assuming Norwich win, the 3 teams above us will all be on 55 points. WBA will be on 59. We will still be 4 points behind 6th with currently the best GD.

    QF Draw

I'm fairly sure that the pooling of gate receipts doesn't apply until the semi final, up to and including the 6th round, the money is split between the two participating clubs. And this link seems to confirm that...

value of win tonight in cash terms

I believe when a EFL/premier league team plays a non league team up to including quarter final games, the gate receipts are split 45/55% in favour of the non league team. Maybe someone can confirm?

    Next block of 5

I think there will be at least one surprise win. Usually happens towards the end of the season

    Next block of 5

I think we will probably lose on Friday. We have rode our luck a bit recently and Preston are on good form. Predicting another 4 points. So 8 points from these 5 games. Still just about on target, then just Watford & Hull before the international break. Hopefully will have Sheaf, Torp, and...

But why did he do it in the first place? It looked to me he ran towards saka, elbowed him, and ran away.

That's what I thought. Disgusting if he meant it the way it sounds.

    Something urgent needs to happen

The trouble is, that to some teams it's just accepted now that it's fair game to target certain players without regard for the rules. This was an extract from a report on the Norwich game. "Mark Robins was angered at the lack of protection Tatsuhiro Sakamoto received as he was clearly targeted...

Should have fined him as well. He still gets paid whether he plays or not.

    Something urgent needs to happen

That's an interesting choice of words. The FA were in an awkward position with Allen's issue, the ref had to say he saw it because he gave a free kick. If there was conclusive video evidence it's possible, given the wording above, that they would have taken retrospective action. I like to think...

    Something urgent needs to happen

It's an automatic red if the ref saw it, so he is unlikely to say he saw it and took no action. Allen's incident was different because the ref gave a free kick. He obviously didn't see any elbow contact and his on-the-spot decision was to just award a free kick. Without conclusive video footage...
