Match Thread Stoke City - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 17th Feb

My father-in-law is a Stoke fan. They came to visit us once and I bought the Stoke match pass but it was the worst ten quid I've ever spent; couldn't believe how shit they were. Made me so grateful for Clive and Oggy (who I think are great by the way).

Decent move down the left there and nice ball from Palmer to Wright whose shot was tame. Stoke getting quite a few breaks down the right and have won a few corners - Rose has got his head on the last two.

Nice work Haji to intercept a pass out of defence. It runs to O'Hare who played a perfect first-time pass to Simms who was really composed as he slotted it in. Confident start to the second half rewarded. Come on lads.

Torp missed a good chance to play Tavares in there, was only looking left when Tav was free on the right.

In case it helps anyone not watching, this is where O’Hare shot from with the keeper on the ground. Struck it OK but gave the defender a chance to make a great clearance.

Big Vik - Nearly had a mare with google !

I’m just on my way home from the match. Thought I’d take my youngest to go and see Gyökeres again as only a couple of hours away. Viktor looked good and his pen was definitely better than that one v Barnsley! Good ground, cracking atmosphere and 40% of the stadium must have been Sporting fans...

Not sure you can be after that performance. Decent, probably undeserved, point, move on and if we beat Stoke then it's a great week with seven points out of nine.

Who is it on CWR comms with Clive and Oggy please?

Come on, that was never a foul. Simms did nothing wrong there. Edit: As typing this he scores. Fair play.

Absolute catalogue of errors: Collins plays a long pass (why?) to Dasilva who is easily beaten in the air; then a rubbish attempt at a tackle by Palmer; Thomas then nowhere near the tackle he's making leaving Whittaker free to roll it in.

For those not watching this is how misty it is - shades of Boxing Day 92 v Villa at HR.

Some keepers don’t like wearing caps. Oggy said on CWR recently that he hated wearing one.

Lovely goal. Superb ball from Thomas into Callum, completely opened up the centre of the pitch. Poor keeping for the goal but who cares.

Great break down the right, Milan cut it back to Tatsu who was free by the penalty spot. His first-time shot was saved and Haji somehow didn’t put the rebound in from about a metre out. Didn’t see if hit the post or a defender saved. Looked easier to score.

For those not watching, Millwall made a really bright start and Collins made an excellent save to keep out a close-range volley after a long throw was headed on by a Millwall player.

Good save in fairness. That was excellent from Wright - direct running at pace that was missing in the first half.
