    Billy Daniels handed squad number

No, Clarke-Harris has been the out and out striker this year and has played far more frequently than Wiseman who has often come on as a substitute. Billy Daniels is definitely being played as a midfielder. I managed to see all the home games up til about 2 months ago. They play some good...

    Billy Daniels handed squad number

Billy Daniels is a striker who has been converted to an attacking midfielder. Good player but a majority of his goals have come from penalties and set pieces rather than open play. Johnson Clarke-Harris is the more prolific of the two and a out and out striker and I personally would have thrown...

    Coventry v Bristol Matchday thread

Why is it that in a must win can't lose game Thorn still won't take a gamble by pushing a defender forward? We are going down with a whimper. So angry it hurts!!

    Coventry v Bristol Matchday thread

Play for a draw and lose the game. Everyone except Thorn can see that. Shocking defending but it was sort of inevitable. I am angry with the lack of fight of some players today and by Thorn's lack o0f ability to inspire his team. Started both halves on the back foot.

    Coventry v Bristol Matchday thread

Carrying too many passengers in today's game. Can't believe he is taking McDonald off. The man is obsessed with having Platt on to defend corners!

    Coventry v Bristol Matchday thread

Thorn posted a pre match comment that today's game is NOT the be all and end all!!!! Clearly playing for a point. Not a shot at goal yet! Poor tactics, poor game plan. We are one goal away from relegation in my mind!

    Coventry v Bristol Matchday thread

Thorn must be the least pro active manager in this league. It has been obvious for ten minutes or more that a change is needed. No doubt he will wait til they score again!

Jordan Clarke, a star in the making.....

I watched the Academy play throughout the whole of last season at Allard Way and can confirm that Cyrus Christie played right centre back for the whole campaign!

    need to score away

It's scary to see that the starting eleven against Forest hadn't scored a single away goal between them this season. In fact the only one of the match day squad who had scored an away goal was Connor Thomas!

Can it get any worse? New milestone every week.

Don't forget that we are the lowest scorers in all four divisions!

How weak is our midfield now?

I do honestly believe that the current midfield is the worst I have seen in 53 years of watching Coventry City. It lacks creativity, pace, muscle and scoring potential. If you look at the assists for city goals this season, not that there are many of them, you will find DEFENDER Cyrus Christie...

    Gardner

At least Thorn got me passionate about something again yesterday by his team selection. Firstly the fact that Mcsheff started the game, but most of all by playing Gardner as a holding midfielder. If he insists on playing this god awful diamond formation then we need a player at the tip of the...

Is The Juke Rumour Just A Political Smokescreen?

Ashbyjan, that is exactly what crossed my mind this morning as soon as i read Thorn's quote: "If we get nobody in and nobody out I will be delighted with that." He has to try and hide the fact that only last week he was virtually guaranteeing a loan signing this week.

FAO the ‘Thorn is a miracle worker’ lot on here

I agree with you, Torchy. While I can see the reason behind the evergrowing concerns about Thorn, I cannot understand why Steve Harrison, the only ever present underpinning three consecutive failing regimes, escapes any criticism or culpability.

    George Hudson

I was none too pleased when George Hudson was bought to replace our then centre forward, Terry Bly, who was a fine player who had scored 25 goals for us in just 32 matches. However, after watching the 'Hud' score a hat trick on his home debut, he soon became my first real hero and no player has...

I am totally astounded, shocked, astonished and amazed

We were in the top flight for 30 odd years and there were only two seasons out of that lot in which we failed to score 5 goals at least once. One of those was the year that we were relegated. Even when we were a struggling team you knew that, on our day, we could tear a team apart. I now go up...

Should we bring a youth striker through the ranks

Johnson Clarke-Harris has been playing welll for the Academy team but has only just turned 17. He is quite quick, with good control and a terrific shot. He is already fairly tall but needs to improve his heading. He scored a few last season and has been on fire so far this year. It is maybe too...

    Cyrus and Gael

Hello everyone .Another long time reader but first time poster ! Just a few personal views about two of our younger players. Firstly Cyrus Christie. Being lucky enough to have the time, I watch the Academy team play at Allard Way. Last year’s stand out player by some distance was Cyrus. I am...
