What proven player is going to come and warm the bench for most the season as a 3rd striker? I’d class Godden as a ‘proven’ striker but he was unhappy being on the bench every week and useless when he was on the pitch

I imagine this whole rumour was planted by his agent to get more money from Wednesday. He’s not an us or Hull type of signings. Pete is usually a decent journalist but I’m sure he wouldn’t say no to a few quid to plant a story like this

No different really than going and playing a game in Exeter or somewhere like that. Not going to take any more out of the players energy wise and I’m sure they’ll be much more excited to go over there than play a league 2 side here

2020-21 was Sheafs first season. He was 23, same as Eccles last season. I'd also argue Eccles last season was better than Sheaf 2021-22 as well

Eccles 2023-24 was better than Sheaf 2020-21

nooooo. 24 year old midfielder with around 100 championship appearances. Improved constantly over the last 3 seasons. Worth a lot more than that

He's clearly been told by the club that he wont be signing this week, hence the story. From all accounts Turner has a decent relationship with Robins and the club so theyre not going to stitch him up here

For such a big signing the club will want Robins there to do the old handshakes etc with the announcement i'd have thought. The player may also be on holiday. So until he's actually put pen to paper Andy can be right with what he's saying while the original story is still correct
