    Rushworth

If we go up I’d be happy to pay £8-10m for him. Wouldn’t want to go any higher as I’m very bullish on Dovin also being a top top keeper.

    Bristol Ratings

    Rushworth - 9 MvE - 7 Thomas - 8 Kitching - 7 JDS - 8 Grimes - 7 Torp - 8 Rudi - 5 Sakamoto - 5 Wright - 7 EMC - 8 Rudi still looks rusty and (despite what he says) dealing with his shoulder. Saka was quiet.

    Rushworth or Wilson

They’ve both had the same growth which is quite funny. Do think people forget just how good Dovin was before he tore his ACL. I’d say at his peak last season he was better than Rushworth’s been so far this year but they’re both excellent keepers.

My final comment on the game is, the best way to view it is, we’ve unluckily dropped 2 points here but we were quite lucky to get all 3 vs Boro/Stoke etc. these are gonna happen, it’s a long old season and they tend to balance out. 6 points from the next 3 and we’re sound.

You don’t get bailed out by scoring 50 goals mate - it’s a tactical play by Lampard/Edwards to be uber aggressive

Mate, if you don’t like Bobby/Kitch, you’d lose your mind watching Tanganga hahaha

Match Thread Preston North End FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 9th Dec

Bobby/Kitch is about as good as it gets at this level as a centre half pairing. If you watch us every week and think the answer is £12m+ on Charlie Hughes and not an additional winger/10 then I’m not sure what to say. conceded 22 in 20, we play a very attacking system that leaves us open to be...

Some incredible knee jerk reactions from people after two overall unlucky results. We’ll be fine (and we’ll strengthen in Jan).

Potential summer signings from the Championship

Loser mentality and doesn’t really work anymore (Ipswich/Luton as some recent examples). We shouldn’t be immediately trying to plan for 2027/28 back in the championship.

Potential summer signings from the Championship

The reality is, to stand any chance we’ll need to spend between £100m-200m on essentially a whole new squad. Best case is a couple of elite champ players (eg. Hackney) but mainly focus in Europe and also try and take a few of the decent players from the sides that go down. From the current...

Match Thread Coventry City v WBA Sat 22nd November 25 12.30 KO

Disagree that we’re weak there - some can’t get over Dasilva’s poor start when he first came to us but he’s been consistently excellent down that left hand side for months now. Few better LBs in the division this season

100% this. Our fans do seem to love overrating other sides teams as well eg. Tanganga etc. Each week the team sheet for the opposition comes out and it’s rare that I see anything to fear.

Ok Tom had already said what I posted above in a much more concise way. But nice to see someone agrees

Are you starting to really believe?

Gamestate matters so much with these stats and are rarely taken into account. Blackburn - probably our second worst performance this season - they pressed us very well and we looked rusty post break but eventually our quality got us the win and after the first goal it was never really in doubt...

    Toughest 5 so far?

WBA (H) - Fans seem to have turned on Mason who by the looks of things plays the sort of faux-Pep ball that is popular with young coaches his age but starting to get found out. Sort of side we tend to play well against. Convincing win. Middlesbrough (A) - Tough game but one of a few sides whose...

I get booing some cunts that have left us but O’Hare was a great servant for us, and left to probably triple his money. Seems like a sound guy as well (fake accent not included). Meanwhile we’ve got idiots singing Sheaf’s song whilst he’s playing for Wrexham against us?

Match Thread Coventry City - Sheffield United Match Thread - Tuesday 4th Nov

Think people went on about the tactics vs Wrexham a little too much post Friday. Reality is we can play the 4-2-4 effectively when we’re essentially full strength. There’s an enormous gap between MvE/Bobby/DaSilva/Torp vs KKH/Wolf/Bidwell/Allen. would’ve liked to see Frank freshen things up...
