Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Think it would depend on productivity. Trials I’ve read about tend to show that, at worst, productivity is maintained. If the employer is getting the same amount out of an employee should it matter if they do it in less hours? Some areas would obviously be exempt. In fact part of the issue now...

Yet again, as with working from home, why can things to improve people’s lives, not to mention improve productivity, only be implemented if it is possible for every single person in the country? The number of times over the decades we’ve been told a change will bring industry crashing to its...

Not really a 4 day week in the way most people talk about it. This proposal would be, for example, 4 10 hour days rather than 5 8 hours days. An actual 4 day week as implemented elsewhere would be 4 8 hour days. Of course they’ve already given companies an easy out as it can only be...

The was a vocal minority who absolutely lost their minds at the idea of 15 minutes cities. You’ve got developers who don’t want to build amenities because there’s no profit in that, councils that can’t afford to and even if you can get round both those problems you’ve got people actively...

Can only really put my own experience but I live in an area where there’s not really any students and the property is not suitable for HMOs. It’s an area that you’d say is traditionally virtual all owner occupied. When I moved here initially I rented while I looked for somewhere to buy. Took...

Best TV shows or movies you can recommend

If if even contains 10% of the shit that happened in his time running WWF / WWE either it will be the end of the company or people will dismiss it as too far fetched.

    Cricket 2024

Apparently ticket sales aren’t great for day 4. Combination of having matches so late in the summer, the ridiculous cost and the chance of little meaningful play past the 3rd day

Funnily enough one of the first things that came up when I googled to see if this was complete bollocks was how long some carcinogens last on surfaces. It was part of a study where they’d looked how badly children’s heath was being impacted when parents only smoked outside and their exposure was...

    Oasis Reunion

Ireland promoter has confirmed prices start from €86.50 + fees. Start from could be the key word there as that could be anything from a couple of rows at the back of the highest tier to ga standing. I fear it may be the former and there will be a lot of people logging on expecting to get...

Chelsea make approach for 17yo Jack James

Are you taking hit rate as a percentage or just a raw number? If it’s the later it’s meaningless with the sheer number of players they have. Also top 5 leagues is an incredibly wide range. If one of our players coming though ended up at Solihull I don’t think many on here would be claiming it...

This is probably why we’re fucked. We will ignore evidence because the vibes feel wrong. Look at the reaction to mention of things like working from home, 4 day week, UBI. I’ve worked for a fair number of SMEs and they’re largely run by people who don’t really know what they’re doing and are...

Loans: What are we getting wrong ?

Sure I’ve read about clubs who have binned off their academies. What do they do to meet the rules?

Chelsea make approach for 17yo Jack James

That’s the issue isn’t it. Money is near impossible to turn down but is anyone actually looking out for what is best for the players career. obviously the flip side for us is we’re not L1/L2 anymore so even players staying are going to struggle to breakthrough and get the minutes they need.

Loans: What are we getting wrong ?

Maybe the players just aren’t seen as good enough to attract attention from the type of clubs that would make it a ‘good’ loan Perhaps clubs need to take a look at the under 23 setup. Not sure that’s been a big improvement on the old days of the reserve league.

Chelsea make approach for 17yo Jack James

This is the problem. They will often what is peanuts to them while being an amount we can’t possibly match. What are the stats on players ‘making it’ after these kind of moves compared to the players who stay put. Probably difficult to tell as you’d need to factor in players ability somehow and...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Something needs to change. People need some hope. We’ve got teenagers now who have known nothing but austerity. Spent their entire lives being told there’s no money and we need to accept some ‘pain’, all while the rich get richer as money flows to the top at an unprecedented rate...
