Match Thread Bournemouth (H) Easter Monday

Bournemouth the original protagonists of FFP infringement. I’d be happy if they weren’t promoted back to the prem.

    The 'quality' of Womens Football

Numerics have a part to play, too. There are less women playing football so it’s statistically easier for them to become successful amongst their peers. I know this as I have been the Mens’ All-England knitting champion for the past two decades. Barely any competition.

    Average attendances

It’s not just the City of Derby, though. Being a county team anchors greater support locally, too. The same applies to Leicester - people from Loughborough still consider themselves ‘Leicester‘ by virtue of living in the county of Leicester. By comparison, Coventry’s support may not be that...

Shepherds Bush is alright - great for live music and some decent boozers.

Match Thread Cov vs QPR Sat 22nd Jan

I known it’s London real estate, I spend a stack of time down there so know the area well, but your comment is a red herring as it’s all relative. They might own it, but they need a new stadium, and guess what? Even if their current stadium occupies valuable land, any thought of moving or...

Match Thread Cov vs QPR Sat 22nd Jan

QPR fans singing “Shit ground, no fans” was particularly entertaining seeing as the attendance yesterday was 2500 greater than the capacity of their poxy old shoebox of a stadium.

    Wasps downward spiral...

With Oxford United’s plans for a new stadium, the Kassam could be looking for a new occupant. Surely that would suit Wasps’ demographic and with only 3 stands is more than big enough for them. They could probably retain their Henley In Arden training centre as well?

    Wasps downward spiral...

This nobber idiot gloating on another post about Villa being the biggest club in the midlands when the rugby team he supports aren’t even the biggest in Coventry. 🤣

    Wasps downward spiral...

When I was a nipper we used to go on holiday to Pwllheli in North Wales so I associated Wales with the seaside. When we moved to Helsby just outside Chester, my dad used to pacify me when I was being a little bastard by asking if I fancied a trip to Wales. We’d get in the car (a Cortina mk 3)...

    Wasps downward spiral...

Excluding the hospitality tier above, the main stand has the lowest capacity of any section of the CBS arena and holds around 5000-5500 spectators, so based on your comment, there may have been 4000 there (or maybe 1000 paying people) in that part of the ground.

They were all too busy queuing in the fanzone for a complementary Wasps rusty tea towel holder to take a picture during the game.

    Wasps downward spiral...

I just took a look at the drunkenwasps forum. I was being unfair in my opinion that it was a minority on there that are eejits. I take it back - it’s pretty much all of ‘em - they are a snobbish collective who need to be gone. Pronto.

    Wasps downward spiral...

That’s a bit unfair, though. You’re essentially endorsing a similar move to when Wasps moved to Coventry. Although not commandeerIng an already occupied stadium, it would likely impact on existing rugby teams in Brum with historic pasts. For me, I want Wasps out but the best solution has to be...

    Everton walk out

All things considered, their fans have remained loyal - they’ve not had a sniff of success in years yet still pull in better crowds than the likes of Chelsea or Man City would if their form was similarly indifferent year after year. That said, Everton have flirted with relegation before, I...

    West brom attendance

Some of the teams being mentioned represent towns and cities where football is the exclusive focus for spectator sports. Coventry has always had numerous sports teams scrapping for local support at various times. Rugby Union, Rugby League, Speedway, Ice Hockey, Basketball etc. - they don’t all...
