EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

Can't argue but I guess when a club is in the state Bolton find themselves it's only likely to delay things for another season

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

Sorry my first post should have said only the PL and L2 would have more teams That's right providing the same formula was used through the divisions but these are only outline proposals if games can't be played The big thing though is that there will be promotions but no relegations There are no...

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

From off the record comments I've heard the most likely solution if games can't be completed is that finishing places will be decided on 'sporting merit' And that promotions will be as usual but there won't be any relegation So all divisions will have extra teams next season with more clubs...

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

I'm hearing that although the clubs would like to finish the season the number of factors against doing so are likely to torpedo any chance Not least of the problems is players whose contracts expire at the end of June. Some clubs just can't afford to pay them with no income And a huge number...

From the news this morning it looks like we are ramping things up massively We've had the lab capacity for huge numbers of tests for a while but the logistics of doing them and getting them to the labs has taken a while to sort out Part of the problem was that we bought 3.5 million tests from...

True But they don't actually know when they will get the deferred payments The players did it to make sure no back room staff would lose their jobs

Up to recently tests were either at hospitals where NHS staff and patients were tested or at regional sites where care home staff, GPs and others working at at surgeries, pharmacies and other front line staff could go to be tested But some had a 60 mile trip and many had no car Mobile testing...

That's possibly because not many have been tested Portsmouth tested all their players after they had been exposed to Mikel Arteta and 5 were positive although most were asymptomatic

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

That's hit the nail on the head Morally football can only resume once all key workers etc have had or have the chance of a test if they want one Football can then resume in similar circumstances as in Germany if all has worked out well there

Although I hope it doesn't happen you can see the thinking behind this from Sky's viewpoint They would have decent content to screen where all the games had something riding on them

It's just a coincidence in this case but it is important for football as there is no chance games will go ahead before more is known about this virus We will be looking closely at how it goes in Germany

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today
