JCS contract position following the sanctions?

SISU Should: (As a specialist is buying distressed debt) -Buy Chelsea via a covert investment arm. -send us all their decent back up players plus one or two more. -end up owning 2 Premiership clubs. -sell both for a combined profit. (Satire - maybe)

The “game management” shithousery needs to be looked at. Opposition players going down with cramp in the final minutes: get a stretcher on. Put a rule of 15 seconds to take a throw in, 15 seconds from when the ball is out back into the penalty area to take a goal kick. 30 seconds for a free...

I’d have a bet that Tavares would have had better likelihood to score. I do hope that Goal diff doesn’t come into it at end of season and I’d wager that there is a difference in appearance fees and number of games played bonus between the Waghorn and Tavares. That said, I would no way...

Bringing Waghorn on for the last few minutes when we are creating chance after chance was an interesting choice. I could see the benefit of Waghorn getting a goal for his morale but also the logic of letting a quicker Tavares rip. Tavares would have toasted that SU defence for pace and...

He’s also not great defensively for defending set plays. As per my rambling above, Sheaf has slightly more in that department. O’Hare pushed slightly up to make the dummy runs for Gyok etc., Sheaf CDM, Hamer / Allen / WBs on the charge. I’d like to see how that went.

Having 5 central players charging forward at various times was brilliant yesterday. Dabo, Maatsen, Allen, Hamer (more so than usual) and O’Hare caused panic. Add to that Gyok cutting in from wide and leading the line from the middle and we looked as threatening as we have for ages. Itd be...

That’s that then. I guess it makes the case for signing u23/24 players stronger, at least we can get development fees rather than them run down contracts.

Coventry City v Sheffield United Song Review

I live in South Sheffield now and most of my employees are Blades fans. We have a works WhatsApp group for important announcements (COVID rules and such) and I remove posts from employees that are non-work related and chastise staff I’ve posted this. Because I can.

The Bosman Rule was upheld in the ECJ. Given Brexit, does anyone on here know if there’s a case for U.K. clubs to lobby for a new system? I’m not necessarily advocating that we should, just musing whether we could….

    Notes from Supporters Forum

I’ll agree with the point about putting player “prices” in the program notes. Amateur move. There’s an earlier mention about Dion Dublin’s transfer earlier in this thread. There was a minimum release fee of 5 million or something iirc. This meant that any club offering 5 m plus could get to...

Allen is my surprise improvement of the season. Thought him a lightweight L1 player out of his depth, shown a bit of something the last few months.

Moore 7 Did everything he needed to do. Back pass pick up costs him a mark. If they’d have scored from that then… Dabo 8 Thought he was great. They didn’t know what to do with him charging forward. Maatsen 7 Good Fadz 7 Did well JCS 8 Good defensively and helped further up when...

Playing well. Gus is on form. I like Allen when he darts around and nips the ball. O’Hare is O’Hare. None of the above are tall. This is problematic when there is a corner or long throw to defend. Fadz, JCS, possibly Rose are our only biggish players. Gyok really needs to be the...

    Dear Boris

All this said, I think the days of Chinese, Arab, Russian investment in U.K. football is over. Invest a billion (or whatever Rom has done) and if there is a geopolitical fallout then the government takes control? Not, in my opinion, the way to go about things. Sending aid / helping...

Scary thought. Hedge fund that specialises in distressed firms buys the club, sells all their players, stacks huge debts against them, they end up struggling for years. Type of thing never happens though, does it?

Get SISU to support finance the stadium and put Wasps there. Rent to Wasps and Derby to pay the finance costs. Satire. Almost.

I’ll rephrase; There’s a “politics” section on this board. That, I suggest, is a better place to go to talk about politics in general. Where politics and football directly correlate - like this thread then that’s one thing. Rehashing Brexit, maybe that’s suited to the politics thread. You...

Who knows. The bottom line is that the Government have stipulated how Chelsea is sold. Last I checked, Boris was the leader of the Government. Talking about yachts and Cuba and wage bills doesn’t make my point wrong.
