I respect, and understand what you're saying. But by making a direct comparison, you're negating 'at that time'. That's the crux of the point. At there respective 'times' means you blur the line of comparison. Not even allowing for the fact that they were different types of player...

My opinion, your opinion. I've been witness to the advances in just the last 4 or 5 years here. I asked a friend who trained with Sheffield Utd this year and he said that they had 'the works' when it came to fitness technology. Not sure why some are getting so bent out of shape about it...
