The tackling is a bonus - ok an important one - but I love him for his passing skills and his ability to make space. Seems like he’s now consistently showing us just how good he is. Which we only saw hints of last year.

For me his off field choices make his abilities/performances/career all the more special. Another of my faves from that era - although admittedly not as good - was Socrates. Smoked like a chimney, captained Brazil, became a Doctor. My favourite quote of his is “it’s better to lose beautifully...

Agreed. And their player wasnt booked?! Although earlier on, Rudoni not being booked after retaliating and pushing their bloke twice, and their bloke being booked for pushing him once, was equally odd.

Another thing I really like about Dovin is that he seems to be genuinely ‘two-footed’. I’m not sure we’ve ever had that. It feels rare.
