There’s a difference between fudged and a genuine lag though. It also means our numbers (when they do come through) are likely to be accurate Germany on the other hand are not testing post mortem so there figures won’t be accurate... No post-mortem tests Another explanation cited by Italian...

Think that’s just England (another 21 for NI, Scotland and Wales I think)...might be wrong though, Still positive that it’s not shot up exponentially. Fingers crossed we can keep it that way

Yeah, agree, it’s all educated (partially informed) guess work at the moment regarding numbers. I’m not sure them (Ferguson etc) commenting every other day is sensible as I’d imagine the actuals could still fluctuate dramatically

Not sure if someone’s provided an update on cases/numbers but for anyone interested .....infections have increased by 2,493 (yesterday was 2546 I think) and deaths by 209 (yesterday 260) Obviously not great but stable(ish), which I think is good as we can hope for over the next couple of weeks

Fantastic article. Although we are in for tough (potentially desperate) few weeks, possibly months, I do still hope that we are able to fare better...fingers crossed for all our sakes

....only to find the missing mushrooms lying on the floor. Brian loves a mushroom (and almost any other drug he can lay his hands on) so he so gobbled a couple down and not long after decided to stretch his magic wings and go for a little fly outside.....

    Seriously struggling today

Nothing anyone can say to lessen the pain JHFC but there will always be some light eventually (however hard it might be to see at the moment) As a couple have already mentioned on the thread try to keep yourselves as active as you can (with the illness and government measures) You take care...

I think by all accounts we traced and tracked better at the very early stages ensuring those that had it (and those they might’ve passed it onto) self isolated....and encouraged calling 111 rather than people attending GPs etc. Subsequent policy to try to keep those that have minor/less serious...

Not sure if the kids going back then but agree with the other stuff. The point around Winter flu and second wave is a major concern. I’m not going to get into the whole government/their advisors strategy again but that is one of the reasons they model/remodel their data and I understand one of...

Looking at the increase in confirmed cases and knowing the mortality rate (and the anticipated 20,000 total estimated deaths) the number of deaths will be rising (probably at a pace) for a while yet. It will be how quickly it starts to level off. Hopefully, this can be in a couple of...

Are people really suggesting that the government can underreport or misreport causes of death ?!! I think a few need to go and have a beer or their daily exercise ps having said that I read Germany weren’t testing for C-19 post mortem. We do though

Not at all. Look back through my posts. For example I asked Sick Boy if Italians were having to go into doctors surgeries if they had symptoms (which they were). We ran a different initial strategy. As I mentioned to DJR (and on previous posts) whether we then utilised the time we brought...

They were what I was referring to though djr. I’ve highlighted/questioned in other posts whether we best utilised this time wisely (only time will tell) but the point was valid in relation to the article that appeared to ignore it altogether

Vallance hasn’t been dropped has he ?! I’ll happy to amend and say both, the only reason I mentioned Witty solely is I know he’s an epidemiologist I was referring to our trace and track methods at the early stages (getting people to call 111 rather than going into doctors surgeries, getting...
