What? I’d be more than happy to swap places with them. We have made a lot of mistakes this season by trying to play it around in defence. Yet, we’ve madequite a few of our goals by forcing errors from teams trying to play it from the back, the best example being against Brentford (H).

With 12 points left to play for, it obviously suggests that 17th is not our ceiling. Not to mention both our top scoring strikers haven’t been fit for most of this season. With the right additions, we’ll be decent mid table outfit with a solid foundation.

I think it depends on how we want to play going forwards. Undoubtedly, we’ve been more direct and feeding off of other teams mistakes. If we intend to play this way going forward, he can add a lot of value to the team defensively.

We’re 3 points from 14th as things stand now... it’s not even our ‘ceiling’ now.

I think injuries / match fitness was the deciding factor to play 1 upfront. If Bakayoko looked like he was even close to scoring, I’m sure we would’ve played 2 strikers more often. Also, we should’ve been 2-0 up after about 10 minutes against Wycombe. We hardly ‘shit ourselves’, Wycombe dug...

They highlight the importance of leadership in a football team. Especially a team that is in a relegation scrap like ourselves. Although, if we’re to progress in the Championship, we really do need upgrades on these players.

    Do you consider us safe?

19th best away record in the league with the following teams to play; Barnsley, Brentford, Cardiff and Luton. The former two both have excellent home records. Rotherham really bottled it against Wycombe, ourselves and Birmingham. Taking 0 points from those 3 games has sealed their fate. We’ve...

Note to the doubters. All the best for rest of the season! I hope you finish strongly. As I mentioned before the game, our home record has been v good this season, and particularly against the Top 6. Only Norwich and Bournemouth have took all 3 points from us in the Top 10, with only Millwall...

Realistically, we’re safe. Despite Rotherham’s knack for getting a big win, they’ve lost Hopefully we can get positive results against Huddersfield and PNE to finish the season strongly.

Rotherham can’t even catch us if they win both their games in hand. They’re going to get relegated. They’ve bottled it against Wycombe, ourselves and Birmingham in the space of one week. I was nervous going into this week but all credit to Robins. Forget his past in the Championship, he’s...

If Godden had been fit all season, I’m certain we would be a few places further up the table. Quality finish despite being obviously off the pace.

100% deserves an extension but we still need be in the market for a younger version of him.

    Do you consider us safe?

Whilst I don’t think we’ll do a Barnsley, with the right additions, we should probably be a decent mid table-ish team. We just need to survive this year.

If I was a betting man, I’d put my money on a draw or a Barnsley win. Our home form is a lot better than our away form, but equally, Barnsley have a very good away record. If Birmingham beat Rotherham and we get a draw, that should see us safe.

I’m hoping we do the same if we survive this season, which I’m confident we’ll do. A result from Sunday probably seals it for me and thankfully, we’ve had some good home results against the teams in and around playoffs.

Brexit, ironically, has made the case for Scottish independence even harder. A hard border with England as they join the EU? Irish unity is a likelihood even without Brexit as the long term demographics trends toward catholics which mostly favours the Republican cause.

Collapse of third party support. This buoyed both the Tories and Labour as they polled above 40% for the first time since the 1970/80s. Brexit nullified UKIPs raison d’être and Lib Democrats were (and still are) a complete non-factor in most constituencies. Until the Lib Dems become a...

With hindsight, losing Stoke-On-Trent Central and Mansfield was a warning shot to the Labour Party in 2017. Two Labour strongholds since the 1920-30s flipped to Conservative. Brexit sped up a process that has been happening since around 2005.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Society has changed fundamentally from the 80s when there was a sizeable industrial working class to speak of and the Labour Party hasn’t adapted well to this since 2005. I think the Gordon Brown ‘bigoted’ comment is probably the key starting point when Labour Party began its disconnect with its...
