They've only lost to teams in the top 10 and haven't conceded away from home for 5 games. Away to teams in the bottom half: P7 W3 D4 L0 GF 4 GA 0. Everything points to an awful first 75 minutes and then a bit of end to end footy when it opens up. From 10 away matches: 5-4 City it is then!

The unbeaten run - the objective view

You're probably right, I didn't phrase that well - terrible in the context of how they'd been playing earlier in the season and at full strength. They were no better than a bang average Champ team on the day - they lost 3-1 to Luton in the very next game before they got their star players back...

The unbeaten run - the objective view

'Full internationals, top flight experience, league leaders'. You're playing the game on paper that's why it's baffling to you.

The unbeaten run - the objective view

And missing Pukki, Buendia and Cantwell i.e. all their goals and creativity, with no recognised striker on the pitch and a defensive midfielder at LB. I'm not sure if you watched that game but they were terrible, absolutely there for the taking. We decided to play Bakayoko, who hadn't played a...

The unbeaten run - the objective view

Specifically it is the away games at Norwich, Derby and Sheffield Weds that rankled with me. All 3 of those games were eminently winnable matches. People were arguing over systems but if you set up negatively in a 3-5-2, 3-6-1 or 4-2-3-1 the system becomes largely irrelevant because they are...

This is not a new issue either. Our results away vs Bottom 6 in Robin's full seasons since his return:

It's not about understanding the jump from league 1 to the championship, that's a lame excuse for not assessing what is happening in front of your eyes. Trying to take the game to Bournemouth is dumb. Trying to take the game to a 0 wins in 9 Sheffield Wednesday? Well I guess we'll never know...

The only people that will think that are those who had decided he was going to be shit before a ball was kicked and now need a scapegoat for us losing.

I've already decided I don't like DaCosta because his centre of gravity is too high to make him look he's really trying.

What an absolutely bizarre opinion to put forward given the plethora of things wrong with today's team performance.

My phone just autocorrected Fankaty Dabo to Fun Kitty Gazebo. That sounds like much more entertainment than that first half.

This game does remind me of Norwich and Derby away though where we'd obviously decided a point was a a decent result before kick off and then didn't adjust at all when we saw how poor they were. Hope we do show more ambition in the 2nd half. It's not always easy to manipulate intensity...

We've only been losing 3 times in 20 games at HT this season. 10th time we've gone in at 0-0. I hope we see Giles for McCallum when/if Robins decides to open up a bit. I still wish they offered half-season iFollow season tickets that could be used for the 2nd half of games only :)

Well Biamou has had 20 touches, Walker is nowhere near him. They've looked a good partnership when they've been within 15 metres of each other. On opposite sides of the pitch today though. If we're going longer into Biamou, which we have several times so far, he needs to be running off him.
