For me, it currently feels we are consistently better/as good than we’ve ever been. I’d say it was great at times in the top flight but for the most part it was pretty shit. I guess there was an added sense of pride about being a top flight club.

    Work colleagues dying

I remember an old tutor of mine telling us more or less the same. He’d retired from the job he was now tutoring in, and said he was stood at the bus stop on the Monday morning after retiring, “with all the oldies” and he thought “I can’t do this” so got into lecturing…”you’ve got to have a...

I saw him getting stopped from trying to enter the toilets at the ground via the exit door. He must be the only person this has ever happened to.

I’ve done the hospitality once and bloody loved it. I told myself…3 course meal, match ticket, and all the booze I could manage. Still expensive and wouldn’t wanna do it every week but as one off/every now and then I could justify it.

Die Happy Moment - Cov Edition

Yeah, I’ve definitely had moments where it felt unjust/unfair/such a shame but those feelings just don’t linger for me. It was amazing. The craziest moment of my life. I rewatched the BBC highlights the other week (not bothering with the pens) and heard the co-commentator (an ex...

Die Happy Moment - Cov Edition

I think I have a different relationship with that Torp goal. Probably the most euphoric moment of my life - the cup final comes close - and strangely the result hasn’t diminished it for me. Odd. My son coming to games with me and seemingly enjoying them with me. Likewise I have a nagging doubt...

    Work colleagues dying

Sounds like an amazing way to earn a living mate…a real privilege. I can only imagine how tough it must be at times. I knew you were a carer but not that you were employed by the NHS too.

I’d be interested to hear her experiences of working for the NHS. I hear a lot of horror stories. 55 would be a great age to retire.

    Work colleagues dying

It’s really rough…colleagues often become our closest friends right? A bloke in my old team died of cancer a few years back. He went kinda quick. He was quite a bit older than me. It was a strange one, I liked him and we’d chat quite a bit but his rep amongst a lot of the others wasn’t great...
