COH is obviously the first choice if he recovers from his ACL and his pre-injury form. He won’t even be in contention for at least a month and he’ll be eased in from then. Even then, it’s not a given he’ll be the same. As of now, he’s not in consideration so it’s moot.

That’s who’s been starting there whenever he’s fit and available…

I think it will be a while and until he’s back and playing consistently, we can’t really count egg before it’s hatched. As we found with Jones, I’m convinced he’d have prospered had he not done his second ligament at P’boro at home in L1.

Would he start ahead of Sheaf and Hamer ? No. I think he’s a solid player, but doesn’t strike me as someone who’s going to kick on take us to the next level. He’s durable and vegetative which is invaluable so he’s an asset. It’s easier for the likes of Kelly, Eccles and even Sheaf (to a...

I think Allen and Sheaf will be the two CMs with Palmer at AM at full strength. Eccles is still developing and is a decent player but strikes me as more of a depth player.

I think both Kitching and Binks can play centrally and as Thomas and Kitching like to overlap, you’d think that’d be option if McFadz gets injured/suspended.

You’re right. Personally, I like some of the attributes he has to offer to have faith he’ll come good. I feel like we’ll get the most out of him when we’re direct and play the ball into space for him to run on to the ball. Which we’re missing because Kelly and Eccles don’t really have that...

Exactly. I love Gyokeres and he was the best forward in the league last year, but you wouldn’t say he was the best out-and-out finisher in the team.

I think we’ll keep tabs, but Binks’ form begs the question of whether or not we try to sign him permanently or not.

    Sheffield Wednesday

It’s very early on in the season where a lot of teams will be in false positions. Personally, I think Ipswich will drop off.

Overall, I think our squad is a stronger, Wright and Simms will come good and our defence is a lot better off - where we’re going to lose an influential player in McFadz in the relative short term. 1-2 midfielders and the return of COH and our squad is looking very good again.

One chance. I heard a gentleman say couple of times yesterday that ‘Gyokeres would’ve absolutely buried that’. Firstly, Gyokeres is clearly better than Simms and Wright. Secondly, Gyokeres had his fair share of missed chances. Not only have we lost Gyokeres, it’s Hamer too and no doubt that...

He hasn’t really had any chances to put away before yesterday. A lot of the criticisms aimed Simms, Wright and Godden stem from our deficiencies in midfield. We couldn’t open up QPR on the first half and it’s no surprise we’ve scored most of our first goals of the game from set-pieces. We...

    Van Ewick Injury

We play with 3 CBs and going into the window we had 1 who is 35/36 - that was clearly the biggest priority. We just have to accept that this process is going to be a 3-5 year thing. We were never going to replace the star quality of Hamer and Gyokeres this window. Overall, our squad is in a...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Callum Wilson scored 1 goal in 44 odd games on loan at Kettering. Past performance is not an indicator of the future… you’re only as good as your last game.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Robins summed it up pretty well. Poor defensive work and a weak midfield is at fault here. Take out Hamer and Sheaf and our midfield isn’t where it needs to be. It’s no surprise we perked up when Ayari came on. Our midfield just isn’t capable of penetrating organised and structured teams.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

We don’t have tempo because our central midfielders cannot love the ball quickly. The strikers look ineffectual because they don’t really have anything to work with.

    Signs are looking good

It’s also 7 games into the season so a sample size that isn’t significant at this stage. If last season didn’t teach you that, what will? Our first win of the season was a 23rd v 24th clash and both teams were in the playoff finals. Players will develop/improve and there will be an opportunity...
