    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Agreed. It currently feels like some under 30s dont think Covid is a big enough risk to them to have the vaccine. Although it doesn’t look like we’ll reach herd immunity levels with the vaccine, I’m hopeful that a combination of natural immunity/antibodies, plus the vaccines might get us up to...

    British lions

Its a team thrown together every four years in a short period of time, playing the best nations in the world in their own back yards. I don’t think the other nations or the Lions consider them friendlies ! Great second half today

    Covid app

The app is obviously causing loads of issues and I understand why people are deleting it. I got pinged a few weeks ago and was told I had 6 days of the 10 day self isolation remaining. I did three lateral flows over the next four days and all were negative. So basically, a waste of time. I went...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

This is a disgrace if they stick to this stance. Of course it’s proportionate to review personal emails if they only have a limited understanding of certain decision making processes because of their use. The fact is Hancock shouldn’t have been using personal emails for official businesses...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Heard this earlier and thought fair play, you can’t/shouldn’t subsequently retract a statement if you believe it. She wanted to make a point and did

    Get brexit done!!!!?

I dont mind, it’s all on the brexit thread anyway. Yeah, a borderline one, as in it was a toss up right up the the vote I did my own research though and had my own reasons. Might sound strange but on a personal level it probably wasn’t the right way to vote. I’ve mentioned on the Brexit thread...

    Get brexit done!!!!?

I know, I’m talking about political reality. If many voted to leave because of uninhibited freedom of movement to then stay in CU just wouldn’t work. Both major parties accepted this in 2017 election

    Get brexit done!!!!?

Yeah, I agree, we can’t be shocked by it. It’s a joke though. People saying ‘oh just stay in CU’ are ignoring the realities of the vote as well though....but we’ve been going over all this for five years ! I’ve said my piece, some kind of food standards arrangement could/should resolve a fair...

    Get brexit done!!!!?

Realistically not sure that could ever have happen without freedom of movement etc. Just wasn’t deliverable. Always felt there could be some kind of food standards alignment/agreement which could deal with a fair few of the border issues though.

    Get brexit done!!!!?

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-57899239.amp M&S saying sandwiches needing three veterinary certificates to get through ?! And entire loads being turned away due to ink colour ? I mean, come on, whichever side of the argument your on that’s just ridiculous. We’re not...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

yeah, my concern is that this will backfire eventually though, with people deleting app and then not knowing if they’ve been near someone with Covid...and therefore not testing. A few have said before, just move it to testing if you’re double jabbed and get pinged now, rather than wait til 16...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Confirmed cases 44k. I never get too excited about reduction in speed of increase until we see it over 4-5 days but last couple have been better* Covid inpatients in England still averaging an increase of around 150 per day (4k in total)…don’t want to speak too soon as there’s a long way to go...

    Where's Max?

yeah, got two Wycombe mates and said Max would be a good fit for them/him. They said it’s rumoured they’re looking at him

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

It’s in the genes 😊 Sorry, couldn’t resist That’s what my unscientific mind thought as well, like different variants of flu can be caught every year or so. I heard a modeller/scientist saying the numbers of people getting it who’ve been vaccinated compared to those who’ve caught Covid...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s been said before, times can change quickly in politics, the vaccine bounce will disappear soon, especially if the current situation worsens (not just cases/deaths but people self isolating unnecessarily etc). Labour just need to sort their shit out for when the inevitable opportunity arises

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

I’m not pining it on young people at all. Read through any of my historical posts and I’ve been clear the younger generations been disproportionately disadvantaged by the pandemic and lockdowns. My post was in response to people querying my comment about taking the vaccine is people’s own...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Well, you could do both of those things if you wanted to but it would be pretty idiotic and against the law. My point was we live in a democracy (ish) and there is freedom of choice which I think is ok as long as people aren’t spreading anti vax nonsense on the net to encourage others to follow...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Ive always felt it’s each to their own on vaccine choice but the government suggesting vaccine passports for nightclubs late Sept indicates they’re concerned youngsters just won’t get them unless coerced/forced. Only 12k first doses Sunday. 30% of 18-30 years olds unvaccinated. Add that to anti...

Considering 68% of adult population is double jabbed only 12%* of total hospitalisations is low/good. *appreciate there’s unfortunately a small number of kids in that number
