Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Where did I say anything about some kid on loan? Sheaf isn’t a Doyle style / Kelly style / Fadz style proper skipper. Grimes over Sheaf as skipper any day.

Grimes needs to be skipper IMO. Sheaf to sheep strokers? Call him an Uber. Get the money. I’d rather let Sheaf go for 6m than MVE any day of the week.

That the best you can do? Yes, I happened to (about 5 years ago) question the wisdom of spaffing a big chunk of our minuscule wage budget on a 33 year old Waghorn when we didn’t need that type of player. It turns out we wasted a big wad of money on him. I’ll own being correct there. Instead I...

Aled had all the badges. Russel Slade had all the badges. Cech has all the trophies. Do we need someone who can measure progressive passing stats and nutrition intake or whatever they give badges for or do have enough of them and need a coach on the team who goalies will look up to, knows how...

No no. Don’t be churlish. It looks like we have a problem with our keeper coaching. I merely suggested that one of the best goalkeepers in the past 20 years might pick up an SOS from Frank Lampard. Give a better suggestion or are we sticking with sass?

Dovin was a bit suss at times last season. Turning to Doug’s words a few months back about developing loan players on behalf of other clubs, one could tolerate allowing a 22 year old that was on a permanent contract to have some “he’ll learn from it” moments. If Rushworth is a loan player, who...

I I agree. He’s a howler in him. But I just think he is a bit more on his toes / vocal / spots a breakaway opportunity and bowls it out quick / does a bit of shithousery. HAS A GOLDEN GLOVE TO HIS NAME. Little things like that, you know….

Trying to think of decent keepers we had under Oggy influence:??:? Kirkland? Westwood? Joe Murphy? Marosi (pre having his head kicked in)? Genuinely don’t know how that stacks up because I also remember Fabian Debec. Scott Shearer. (Shudders). Pile in. Who was / is the better GK coach?

I’m not claiming to be any kind of ITK but I was told by a credible party that Oggy’s stature within the club upset some of the SISU lanyard wearers and they were desperate to get rid of him to stamp their mark. The stalling block was the redundancy pay - transferred under TUPE so for a 60 year...

I’d agree if it were teaching Simms how to run channels. It’s one day a week passing on some tips from the sidelines I was suggesting. Plus, he’s 67. Like, under the retirement age for the Uk now, I think. Have a biscuit.

Great. Alex Ferguson was winning stuff at 72. It’s goalkeeping. Not sure the fact that Oggy probably smokes a hundred a day and needs a zimmer (satire, Oggy) stops him passing on his wisdom about setting up a wall and where to stand for a corner.

I know I’ll get the usual shoulder biters ranting in reply but I don’t understand why we didn’t get Ady back to work with Lampard and his ex-Chelsea crew and why Oggy isn’t given the chance of at least helping out. Blah blah.

Get Oggy back. Hold on you cloud shouters…. He’s got to be worth going in one day a week to do a bit of extra goalkeeping coaching. The bloke spends his time now watching CCFC and he’s a legend and called the equaliser bang on.

    We cannot defend set pieces

To be fair, ex players never work. M Doyle didn’t help us out of the basement. Ex managers never work either. Robins was a failure. Hyam was sold to pay for the pitch. Kinda. He’d be a useful squad player. Just my opinion.

Is Dom Hyam worth a sneaky bid at? At least we’d have an ITK back in the forum (ducks for cover, laughing)

    We cannot defend set pieces

Definitely. The coaches need to be working with Rushworth, who clearly is struggling with set piece set-up. Moreover, how long before opposition teams identify that we can’t defend set pieces and gameplan around that?
