This team will be better than the 22/23 team

Gyokeres is potentially a £100m player, of course he’s a lot better than what we have. We obviously need a replacement for Hamer, that’s in the works and Robins has been v open with that. There’s always scope for improvement so we will be looking to make 2-3 signings in Jan and more in the...

Worst fan you’ve ever sat near

Swansea away today there was a middle aged man moaning at every little mistake and berating the whole team… QPR away, same guy, same relentless nit picking every mistake and saying we’re shit. Do these people actually enjoy watching the games?

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Agreed and at this stage, he offers more than Godden in open play. Against Blues, he was outlet and his link play was good. He just needs to find his feet and again, I think we’ll have a really good player on our hands. There’s a reason half the league wanted him this summer.

Unfortunately I wasn’t at the game but I’ve rooting for Wright so I’m happy he got MOTM. I feel like Simms too will have a purple patch once he hits some form - he’s admitted to snatching at chances lately.

Whilst not wanting to get too excited after a few games of quality, it does seem like COH has used the time out injured to really work on his game. Pre-injury, he was arguably our most influential player who perhaps lacked a killer instinct in the final third. If he can consistently add goals...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Clearly people who have made their minds about him early doors. They’ll hop on the bandwagon when he bangs them in on the regular. I couldn’t make the game last night but his goal was quality. Great team effort to win the ball, slide Wright in and his touch, feint and the finish was quality...

Allen, Sheaf and Eccles are all solid contributors to the team. None of them have that creative spark Hamer did and it’s something we still miss.

Alongside Hamer… Even Robins has said that it’s an area that needs improvement. The reason we’ve moved to 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 initially was because we regularly lost control in midfield. Something that happened a lot less when Hamer was playing for us. Bottom line is this: Robins’ top priority in...

Strongest? In most of the games we’ve surrendered leads it’s mostly because our midfield has lost control. Eccles, Sheaf and Allen are all hard workers and good players, but only Sheaf stands a chance of playing for a Top 6 team in reality. In terms of output, specifically goals and assists...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

I don’t think the pass was on, you’ve got two defenders running towards the passing lane and Simms is running away from a pass. Had he passed and it got intercepted, you’d have a bunch of people slagging him off for not shooting. The right decision was to shoot, but needed better...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

MR will be happy with the contributions of all our forward players. Wright does need to be more clinical but there’s a lot of undue criticism that the 2 chances he had were ‘easy’. He was under pressure both times and Ruddy’s head denied what would’ve been a great goal. He was guilty of going...

I seen that from the opposite end of the ground and likewise, was utterly disgusted!

Your point was really drilling down to ‘players only care about money, there’s zero sentiment’. Which isn’t true. We weren’t the only team in for COH when he was a free agent and I’d be surprised if we offered the most money for him too. When making a decision to join a new team, you’re...

It not always about cash-maximisation in short term. A lot of people confuse this. Players have career plans like the rest of us and that will involve playing at the highest level which invariably pays the most. Gyokeres forced a move to Lisbon rather than the Premier League because he backed...

It’s not capping it and it really would depend on where COH believes he can develop the most. Part of that will come down if MR can convince him we’re going to be seriously contending for promotion in the next two-three seasons. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, he had one really good game but...

I’m glad someone mentioned it. We’re still one of the most counter-attacking teams and in those phases, we’re very direct in our passing. I really liked the tactical idea of playing long balls in behind for Simms and Wright. It gives us an option we never really had when playing flaccidly side...

    Josh Eccles

I don’t think so, he’s had a run of games and probably needs a rest. Considering we didn’t make any subs suggests our options weren’t at 100%. That, and Birmingham being an average team with a substandard manager.

Simms played well and was a focal point for us which we don’t really have. He needed a big chance and didn’t get one. I thought Allen played well but think it’s a good game to play Eccles and Sheaf. Had COH not had a stormer, I’d have leaned towards a 4-3-3.

    Recruitment has been shocking

Agreed, more generally we’ve focused our attention on players who are versatile which has allowed us to re-jig the shape and personnel when the 3-4-1-2 wasn’t working. We do need wingers, but I think a front 3 of Wright, Simms & Sakamoto could be quite potent.

When will people learn to be patient and not shit the bed at the first sign of trouble? Never, they never will.
