    Sutton put to bed

Seeing how direct Maidstone are and they look to have pacy players, I just can’t see how playing McFadz would be a good idea. A sub appearance after if we were comfortably ahead, sure.

We’d have to go back to 3-4-1-2 which would be bad. I think that system is dead now.

    Cup draw

Could’ve been worse, they could have drawn Luton. For them it’s the difference between a 4.5-6k allocation v 1k at Luton.
  4. Mucca Mad Boys

    Cup draw

You’re fixating on Friday’s result right now. Take it for what is, we drew a game we should’ve won and the consequence of that is that replay the tie at home. That’s an advantage to us. Both teams have important fixtures upcoming.

    Cup draw

Half cup empty kinda person? Hillsborough is a tough place to play and bring Wednesday back to our place. We’re the better team, good home record against a team who’s away record is poor. We’re strong favourites for this one.

    Thankfully, they play in amber…

    Cup draw

It’s not, credit to Maidstone for getting the 5th round but they’ve used their luck up against Ipswich. It should be a routine win for us. I’m glad it’s a home tie for both teams.

That’s policing in 21st century Britain. Shambles.

As for @WestEndAgro’s COH claim? Heard anything on that front?

    O’Hare to L*cester

Gyokeres and Hamer carried us last season. This season has been much more of a team effort. Sakamoto, Wright, Sheaf and of course O’Hare have been match winners in recent weeks.

    O’Hare to L*cester

Well, £5 upfront. £15m does seem a bit high but that’s with performance incentives. For arguments sake, another team could be offering £5-8m cash. Similar structured deals is probably how we landed Simms in a crowded field of suitors.

    O’Hare to L*cester

£15m seemed obscenely high for Hamer too, given the circumstances. Could be a bidding war and a team is particularly desperate to secure him. A team like Southampton may not be a preferred destination in free agency - they might not get promoted.

This is up there with worst shout since the suggestion that Dabo could play CM. Not going to happen.

Match Thread Coventry City - Bristol City FC Match Thread - Tuesday 30th Jan

Probably our best team with what’s available. It’s too early to say Torp > Eccles but with MR saying he wanted to take him off (but couldn’t) suggested he may be rested next game.

    Simms

For team that’s made so many bad signings, we seem to be doing alright!

    Simms

Pretty sure Godden was 3rd choice last season after Kelly and McFadz?

It is when you factor in the following: - Palmer thrives when he has space - Palmer has less league goals than Godden and Simms - COH plays as a CAM, so Palmer wouldn’t be a false 9, he’d play as a striker So what are we actually improving by playing Palmer as a False 9?

With respect, stick to spectating. Terrible shout.

Which is why we’re after wingers. You have to establish cause and effect. Is it the strikers who are not finishing the chance or the service to them? As I’ve been banging on for a while, we’ve struggled to create good opportunities for our strikers in recent games. Simms, it is fair to say...

Match Thread Sheffield Wednesday - Coventry City [FA] Match Thread - Friday 26th Jan

It certainly became a meaningless gesture, especially when every team was doing it before every game. However, last night it was good to see the squad rallied together. I have no issues with Sheffield Wednesday standing in solidarity - the incident would have hurt their own players too. On one...
