To be fair, this looks a little bit like sensationalism. It appears that only the "Fan Festival" venues will be ticketed. It has music acts and is on a much large scale than regular fan parks. I think the regular "fan parks" will be free.

Those looking for accomodation, forget hotels. Silly prices. Try Vrbo - we've got a 3 bed apartment not too far from Liberty State Park (where the Fan Festival will be) and the MetLife Stadium side of the Hudson River. 4 nights for £1000. Same property was on airBNB for £500 more.
