Haha I’m glad you got the jist 😂

Agreed! If Eccles had finished off the move from Kitching’s pass it’s a GOTS contender! As for Bidwell, he looked energised and had a fine game - as much as JDS’ introduction to the team was criticised I felt Bidwell looked tired before that little run of games.

    Simms and Wright .....

Unfortunately, it is you who’s missed the point because I was being sarcastic. There’s always an asterisk* whenever Simms does something well. Either the goal was ‘poor goalkeeping’, the finish ‘wasn’t that good’ or in this case ‘yeah he’s scoring but the opposition is in the bottom half’. At...

    Simms and Wright .....

The only teams we’ve beaten in the top half is Sunderland & Leicester… Gyokeres’ scored 12 goals against bottom half teams and a goal against Wrexham in the cup last season. Do they not count either?

    Bradley collins

If the moment where he parried it is the same one I’m thinking of, it was nowhere near one of their players. Second half, right? He’s a good goalkeeper at Championship standard, finished 5th with Barnsley a few seasons ago. As for Wilson, the saves to xG speaks for itself and that probably...

    Bradley collins

Collins is quite unconventional which worries some people. As you say, he’s underrated and I can only think of 1-2 examples where he’s been at fault for a goal this season. No need for Wilson to start the last few imo.

    Simms and Wright .....

Simms is 12 goals with at least 11 games left of the season. It’s not out of the question that he or Wright surpasses Gyokeres’ first goal haul of 17.

    Simms and Wright .....

Have you watched the movie Moneyball? The team in question loses their best player and the recruitment team say off the bat ‘we’re not going to replace that player’. The reason for bringing that here is the same applies to Gyokeres. We were never going to get a player as good as him...

be It’s well and good coming out with this after a good performance against Rotherham playing wingback. Where was he against PNE and WBA? It’s against these kinds of teams we particularly miss Sheaf and that’s where Eccles needs to get to. Agree - he’s also just come off a domestic season...

    Kelly must start every game

Until Sheaf is fit, Kelly could play a useful role in making us a bit more steady. Watford will be more of a test - Rotherham is not a good barometer of things.

Whilst I agree with your sentiment, but the point of the post is to highlight that there are players in the squad that aren’t really good enough to be in a playoff team. 3 points off playoffs with the best GD of the teams around us so the comment that we’re not serious contenders was ridiculous.

For sure, Kelly is a limited player and will probably be in L1 next season. After two wobbly performances, we just needed a steady head in the team and rotate some tired players out.

Kelly had a solid game, until Sheaf is fit he should probably start. The leadership, organisation and defensive play warrants it. Eccles seemed to have more freedom out wide so I’d probably give MVE a rest against Watford too. For all his faults, Kelly is generally a reliable performer even if...

Should Ohare now be back up for Palmer

If you had no prior knowledge of the teams tonight and the last couple of games, you wouldn’t have thought COH had more goals and assists than Palmer. If Palmer can turn these performances into more goals and assists, we’ll have some player on our hands.

It’s not a reflection on his performance, he’s another that could do with a rest. This game is wrapped up - no need to risk anyone.

Stop tryna force someone to play RW 😂 Without Sakamoto we don’t have the personnel to play 4-2-3-1 so we’re probably going to keep 3-4-1-2 for the rest of the season.

He’s having a good game there, been tidy in possession, made some intelligent runs too. Without getting too excited, Rotherham aren’t really a defensive test so I don’t believe he should play ahead of MVE.

    Do we even miss Hamer?

Is now a good time to bring up that Wright and Simms have more goals this season than Gyokeres in 49 games?
