    Robins celebration

Didn’t stop him giving the big one when they were winning so serves him right.

    Wright and Simms

About 2-3 weeks ago I looked at the xG of Wright and Simms. To my surprise, Wright was nearly -5.7 to his actual goal tally and Simms was -1.5. To clarify, that means that both of them should have more goals. For Simms in particular, I believe his output was low was low because he wasn’t given...

Match Thread Wolverhampton Wanderers - Coventry City [FA] Match Thread - Saturday 16th Mar

Exactly this. We had the better chances and we’re actually quite wasteful. Their first came from a mistake from Lati and their 2nd was class play from them. I am surprised at just how easily we created chances against Wolves - we could have easily had 5-6 today. It wasn’t a Maidstone-esque fluke.

Shithousery at its best. Gary O’Neil has used that to deflect from what was a poor performance from his team.

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

He isn’t going to go mental when we’re battering Maidstone or Rotherham.

    Wright and Simms

I appreciate the classy response! Simms was offside for the sitter so at least that saved his blushes - either way he should’ve buried it.

@fatso is 2 goals and an assist against Premiership side enough for you? 😂

    VAR

My only experience of VAR was at UEFA sanctioned matches (England internationals) and those checks are much more efficient. It’s clear to me that the FA has really made a hash of VAR implementation. 5 minutes waiting was a joke.

    MOTM?

Simms gets MOTM for me. Sheaf is a close second and I thought Bobby Thomas had a great game too. The team executed the plan perfectly and we were good value for the win. At 2-1 down after 88 minutes you’d have taken extra time and we kept fighting. What a great day, everyone is happy and...

    formation change

It was mostly 4-2-3-1 but we slipped into 3-4-1-2 defensively - Robins deserves all the plaudits for the tactical flexibility.

    Callum O’hare

La Liga in Spain would be a good career move for him imo if he can cope with living abroad and learning a new language. That’s relatively easy for Vik and Hamer who can speak 3+ languages - not sure about COH.

Why would any club do that?

    Callum O’hare

I don’t think it is. My instinct is that he wants to test himself in a higher division rather than chase the highest pay cheque. I reckon he’d stay if we got promoted even if the salary on offer was less than elsewhere. Besides, the two go hand in hand, we’re not going to beat a Prem team on...

    Callum O’hare

It’s the other way round, he’s not been as good since Norwich away and he’s been deservedly dropped. I like COH and wish him well in the future but he’ll be easier to replace than Hamer and Gyokeres imo. In short, if he’s going, we’ll survive and move on. It’s been the same since McNulty left...

    Callum O’hare

COH didn’t want to sign one then - he’s said as much because he knew if he hit form after his injury he’d have Premiership interest. If he got injured again, he probably knew we’d renew his contract as we did with JJ. With 18 months left on his contract at the time of the injury, it was a...

    Callum O’hare

He’s had a good scoring run, but imo, he needs to get back in the goals and assists to prove he is capable of the big step to top flight football in England or elsewhere on the continent. He’s a good player but some of his performances have been quite frustrating. In fairness, coming from a...

    Transfer Rumour Summer 2024

I’d avoid United - it’s a career graveyard atm. Gyokeres at Spurs could work really well under Ange!

    Callum O’hare

Has he though? He’s scored all his goals in an impressive 12-14 game stretch (including FA Cup) but not since and he’s been dropped in favour of Palmer. Personally, I’d love to keep him but I’m sceptical if he can make it in the Prem.

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

Not really the point I was making. Sargent has been a full USA international, been a starter for Norwich in the Prem costing £10-15m iirc. He’s obviously the better player. It’s more of a call for people who have said Simms will never be good enough a cause for reflection. His goal scoring...
