15% of the profit, say £60M = £9M 10% of the profit = £6M So if you reduce the figure of £9M by £6M (10%) you get…… ???

no I’m not, I’m actually missing a ‘by’ - the word ‘até’ means by up to in this case in Portuguese, you can’t just Google translate (which incidentally also suggests the same anyway…) you have to take the words in context - I’m sure if anybody here speaks fluent Portuguese they can attest to the...

guys I honestly don’t care, but attached is the statement - it says 15% which can be reduced up to 10% etc…. the way this translates in Portuguese means it can be reduced from 15 to as low as 5 (so to be fair it could still be 10% if he doesn’t / didn’t hit all the additional bonus targets)...

Or have read the contract? and / or speak Portuguese?

…that’s why it drops to 5% - the wording in Portuguese says it drops by up to 10%, which (although badly worded) means it goes from 15 to as low as 5 It definitely doesn’t drop to 10% anyway, not arguing about it, and probably won’t find out even if / when it happens

the sell on percentage is only 5% as he’s hit all other targets - £60M profit, £3M sell on and we pay 10% (I believe, it might be more) to Brighton, so we stand to make £2.5M decent but nothing to get over-excited about

what I meant was every other transfer rumour gets a ‘transfer rumour’ post, even when discussed elsewhere…. I would imagine £10M is a stupid starting position and it’ll be thrashed out until we reach a deal both parties are happy with, if we want him that much we’ll get him
