    Business still to be done

I'd keep Bidwell as left CB cover unless we can get better in before the window closes. His lack of pace doesn't get so exposed there as at LB.

Match Thread Oxford Utd vs Coventry City Saturday 30th August 3pm KO

What would you do if Rushworth gets injured before Dovin is fit? Collins? Thinking about it, height is a good physical attribute for a goalkeeper and Ells Simms is 6'3" 🙂

Match Thread Oxford Utd vs Coventry City Saturday 30th August 3pm KO

Subject to our injury position changing or any players being sold, I would select the same starting XI as against QPR. I suspect that Oxford will park the bus and hope to catch us on the break or score from a set piece. I think we will win but it won't be a walkover. I will go 2-1 but I...

Brau, Bidwell and JDS is not enough? Get Chilwell! 😆

    Ellis simms

Absolutely. It is clear that FL doesn’t want to pick Simms or Bassette, so we really only have Haji and BTA as our senior strike force. We are only an injury or two away from being in real trouble up front.

I think that, all being well, we will see him on the bench after the international break. In the meantime BTA will play on the right. If nothing else, BTA drags defenders out of position with his pace which creates opportunities for others.

    Transfer Rumour MVE to Wolfsburg

And most of us didn't think much of Gykores when he first arrived on loan. Similar with Haji. You can never quite tell. Perhaps Simms will turn out to be the second coming of Messi 😆

That's fair and you have to admire the effort he puts in. He has to play at the moment because we are threadbare (a) at RW with Tats injured and Rapha not yet ready to be a starter and (b) CF with neither Bassette nor (sadly) Simms worthy of a starting place.

To say “he has been absolutely garbage” clearly goes beyond last night, otherwise you would say “he was garbage” and ideally but not necessarily add “last night”. Perhaps the OP only meant to refer to last night but I can only go on the words they used.

No, they go further than that. Saying he’s “a car crash” and “he has been absolutely garbage” are more than just comments on last night. As for suggesting he was drunk, words fail me.

    Transfer Rumour MVE to Wolfsburg

I’m sure he will come good when he has settled in and has more experience of playing our system. I didn’t think that, even last night, he was as awful as some of our fans are saying even though he made some mistakes.

I do think some of the criticism of KKH on here is way over the top. I for one am reserving judgement until he has had a chance to settle in and get some minutes under his belt. I thought Brau showed some nice touches.

We may struggle to score the Old Seven tonight. TBH the Old One would be nice 😊

Of the players that we don’t know much about I think Brau has been the best. Some good things from KKH and Rapha, although they both need more game time to improve consistency. Andrews a bit disappointing but I’m certainly not writing him off just on the back of this game.
