    Hadji Wright's Winner at Wolves

I celebrated pretty hard against Wolves for the winner… However, nothing came as close to the pandemonium of Torp’s disallowed goal!

    JDS

At 23, Sam McCallum has far more upside than Bidwell and in most categories is ahead of him statistically. There’s an odd obsession with Bidwell from our fans. He’s a solid player but it’s a position we can improve on. At this point in his career, Bidwell deserves to start for someone so if...

    Robins to Hull!!!

I just can’t see Robins leaving us for anyone at this point, even if Man U offered him a pop at the poisoned chalice! 😂

    Summer transfer window 2024

Good point, McCallum and Browne would make strong free agent signings. As for Dolan and Rudoni, I’d like to know potential fees involved for them and are they our ‘top targets’. Exciting times!

Casting your mind back to the L1 and first championship seasons, how valuable were McFadz and Kelly? Their leadership and organisation alone was worth so much. Looking around our team right now, who offers that? Sheaf and when he’s not available, you need that. Eccles is experienced beyond his...

Even if we decide to sell Sheaf? I’m expecting that to happen this summer or next. You get Kyprianou for a fraction of that and you put a player like Browne next him, that could be a great bit of business. From highlights and description of his game that I’ve seen, he’s like-for-like.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

See a trend here? Tories calling their Conversative government ‘socialist’ for lacking a conservative agenda. Likewise, you’ll have Starmer’s Labour government be branded ‘Tory-lite’ this time next year just as Tony Blair was. The ‘state’ is too big and public sector too unproductive for any...

    Summer transfer window 2024

He’s their captain and player of the season of one our playoff rivals. Proven at Championship level, he’s versatile and addresses a lack of experience that we need. Kelly, McFadz and Godden leaving in one season is a lot. They’re no longer up to standard but they out top 3 choices for captain...

I don’t think we’re signing an AM, two of the CMs we’re linked with (Rudoni & Browne) can play AM but are primarily CMs. As reported by our resident ITK, we’re likely to be moving to a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2.

You’ll be surprised. Robins has said we’ve lacked quality and quantity since Jan/Feb. 3 starters after mentioning this is tinkering around the edges. If we’re after ‘exciting’ talent, I could see there being up to 5-6 new starters. To try and put names and positions on it: - GK - CB - one of 2...

    Mason-Clark

You’ll be glad to know Rudoni has played most his games at CM rather than AM this season. Looking at our targets, it’s interesting that Browne and Rudoni have both played DM, CM and AM this season. Like Eccles, they can all play anywhere because both have also appeared on the wings too.

    Tiredness

Robins talks a lot about giving players a rest and has gone in depth on this in interviews previously. It’s more likely the accumulation of matches because we don’t have the numbers.

    Summer transfer window 2024

I’d rather have McCallum than Bidwell and there’s no way Bidwell is willing to be a bench option. He’s 31-32 and his contract is expiring, if we can get cash in for him, it makes sense for both parties.

    Coventry City's patient progress

Keep this standard of journalism up and there’s no reason why you can’t end up writing at The Athletic! Great piece and had you not mentioned you were an Ipswich fan, you’d pass of as one us! Enjoy the Prem next season, you proved a lot of people (including myself) dead wrong this season!

Well, JDS is under contract for 3 seasons and Bidwell’s expires next year. He’s obviously a solid player and he doesn’t want to be a backup option. The people saying ‘get rid’ of JDS as if it’s an easy task. Even if we let him go for a free, someone needs to pay his wages.

    Summer transfer window 2024

Browne is a leader, agree it would be a fantastic signing. It’s well and good signing players ‘to the model’ but it would be foolish to have no experience around them. We’ve lost/losing all our ‘leaders’ this summer and that’s assuming Sheaf stays. However, I am confused, why does McCallum want...

    24/25 is THE year

I believe both Rudoni and Dolan, two mooted targets can play there. Rudoni is a CM/AM and Dolan is a versatile RW/LW/AM. Plan A will be 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1 a Plan B, perhaps?

    24/25 is THE year

You’re not going to have a season where we sign no one at all, you always needs new players. Last season was a rebuild because we couldn’t field a starting XI of senior players after all loanees and released players left us. We signed 14 players with 17 leaving. This summer, we need to sign...

    Sheaf

Thomas wasn’t signed from L1, he was signed from Burnley who’d just won our league and came through their academy. Plenty of good players come from League 1, I’ll pick out a few examples; Ivan Toney set a goal scoring record straight from L1, McNally for us came from L1, Ipswich have just won...
