    USSR invades Ukraine.

Unfortunately, we’re all paying for it though mate. All those countries historically heavily reliant on Russian energy, like Germany, are now in everyone else’s (our) limited market pushing prices through the roof. Our energy security is our own issue so I’m not defending successive governments...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

I’m not sure how much gas Europe is still getting from Russia but guess it’s quite a bit. Until pipeline is turned on again they won’t be getting any more. They’ve been ramping up gas storage for winter so they’ll probably be dipping into that for now. Prices will increase for all as they’ll...

    And breathe

Exactly. There is no doubt we couldve got decent money in for Vik, Hamer and Ohare, probably Sheaf as well, maybe not some of the valuations being banded around here but still millions. The club have rejected offers that didn’t match their valuations and should be credited for that. This is also...

    And breathe

We’ve got a lot on mystic megs (who also like to use a bit hindsight) on this forum, the same people who were predicting one of the big three going and nothing reinvested, are now moaning about where we might be after a few more games and potential valuations of players at Christmas and next...

    Deadline Day Thread

Whole range of reasons from injuries to unrealistic wages to maybe holding on for someone who didn’t come in for them. I agree that if anyone is signed they’re likely to take some time to get up to speed though. Panzo and Doyle were brought in so you’d hope will step up. I thought Doyle looked...

    Deadline Day Thread

Agreed. If anyone had offered me that at the start of the window I’d have taken it. If someone had come in with a big offer for a player which allowed reinvestment great but from early on many were saying one of the big three was going and nothing to be reinvested apart from wages. We didn’t...

I think it changed from he was undervalued and we shouldn’t sell our best players, to he’s overvalued and we should’ve sold him and reinvested…sometime lateish July

    Deadline Day Thread

I get that but people need a bit of perspective, seasons only just started and half of the negative rants are about stuff that’s not even happened yet If people want pure sustained enjoyment they may as well support Man City as you’ll never get that here. A good old fashioned emotional...

Quality player. In my most optimistic mind I wondered if we could get him if Ohare left…not at that price obviously Forest have bought a whole squads worth of players 20+. Crazy

If* we don’t lose any first teamers I think most would’ve snapped your hand off for that at the start of the window *a big IF

Mark Robins is responsible for Hyam being sold

Yeah, that what’s I was saying walker, waghorn and Kane, all big salaries and us trying to bomb them out after a year.

Mark Robins is responsible for Hyam being sold

I thought lower prem or yo yo championship teams would be in for both. Plenty of premier league clubs pay those figures for squad players

Mark Robins is responsible for Hyam being sold

It’s more the fact that within a year Robins didn’t seem to fancy him (or the others). We can’t afford to do that with players on championship wages

Mark Robins is responsible for Hyam being sold

Think that’s a bit harsh. We know bids came in for Ohare around 5m+, reckon probably similar but a bit less for Hamer and we also know Viks going to be worth a lot more than we bought him for. If they’re fit and playing well their values shouldn’t drop much….if they’re injured or playing shit...

Mark Robins is responsible for Hyam being sold

Some fair points here and something I was thinking about the other day with regard to wages for Waghorn, Kane and Walker, all of which appeared totally out of favour with Robins…although Waghorn maybe back in now Giving new contracts to Hamer and Ohare to protect their value was sensible...

He wasn’t having a go at fans. It was more tense and he said the players need to block that out.
