I didn't like how the moderator interrupted so often. That said, Sunak continued his whiny debating style that wins no endearment from voters - hence a pretty wooden debater like Liz Truss beat him soundly in the only other election he's faced.

Birmingham to Frankfurt, 19th June. As for the return leg, was looking like a 26th June flight Cologne to Birmingham (late night) for about £98 - hand luggage only. However, I work for a German company and so may take advantage of the new head office and some working abroad policies to stay out...

Some interesting ideas at a glance. Very interesting you mention the economy because economic management probably won't change under Labour. For all the laughing and joking around Liz Truss's tenure as a squatter in No. 10, it sent a massive warning shot to Labour as well. Any 'unfunded' public...

I got the last 2 flights tickets from Ryanair departing Birmingham international for £51 (at that price) on the 19th. It was a real spur of the moment thing after 2 beers. Some mates of mine are flying out from Manchester on the 20th or 21st June for about the same price.

How many goals did Windass score from September? 😂

I’ll be in Cologne and Frankfurt for our group games and hoping for a ticket, reckon there’s a good chance I won’t get ripped off? 😂

Agreed and it’s random for a Serbian outlet to break the news. It’s like Turkish and the Dutch reporters breaking Wright & MVE ahead of time. Signing a player with UCL is just ridiculous in all the positive ways.

Anyone have any advice on getting tickets out in a host country? England v Slovenia looking at £200-odd for a ticket which I’d probably pay. Hoping to sort something in Germany at a cheaper rate.

Funnily enough, people are starting to correlate increasing net migration with slowing growth in GDP per head. That’s just think tank big wigs. All of this is moot when every government elected since 1997 has made promises around immigration control/reducing net migration. If one issue...

I said that illegal immigration was symbolic more than anything. The focus needs to be on reducing low skill, low wage migration and I don’t understand why people of the left would oppose that. To change the topic slightly because immigration is not a policy priority for me and never has been...

Honestly, if you’ve got the annual leave and means to do it, 100% get on it! Flights have turned out reasonably cheap - my flight out £51 and slight back looking to be around £100 - accommodation looking between £45-70 a night atm.

Me too! Are you heading out at all? I plan to be out there for our last 2 group games and perhaps the Round of 16 too. I have emergency AL at work should we get past the quarters…

Again, there have been flaws in the acceptance processes too. Unfortunately, often a front for nasty people smuggling rings too.

What’s the alternative though? We couldn’t process anyone in the EU, for example. We’re trying to work with the EU (France) on this. If anything, Europe is starting to agree with the logic of processing in third countries. I’m open minded to practical solutions rather than platitudes. Labour’s...

Yes. Australia’s system is highly selective with quotas to numbers coming in. They have a policy to process asylum seekers in a 3rd country - Papa New Guinea.

Why do you continue to do this? You deliberately take someone’s words and twist them. Well, not all the land is habitable so the ‘only 3% of the space is used’ is equally a false narrative. More importantly, you need housing, roads, hospitals, schools and more. Who’s paying for all of this...

Well, this is a symbolic issue, isn’t it? If we can’t sort out something like illegal immigration, how do we possibly sort out legal immigration? Again, if we strive to be a high wage economy, this isn’t the way to do it and ironically, given the people supporting mass immigration, it’s a dream...

Our infrastructure? Bearing in mind we’re importing a population equivalent of a 2 Coventrys. Net migration in 1997 was around 50k. At one point, 25% of asylum claims of small boat crossing were from Albania. Which is a safe country. The system is clearly broken and schemes being abused.

Take a look at the political climate of said countries. Specifically how well their far right parties are doing - Greece has got multiple successor neo-nazi organisations to Golden Dawn.

Well Herts, you need a combination of short term and long term policies otherwise you’re in a perpetual cycle. Not all of the 750k or so migrants are NHS workers, in reality it’s a small portion of these figures. Bearing in mind there are approx 265k in the NHS workforce as a whole. In fact...
